So, here I am in the World’s financial capital, trying my luck for Investment Banking/finance jobs. Canada, as some of you already know, does not offer many opportunities in terms of career advancement. I did manage to get a contractual position with TD Waterhouse in Toronto for some time, working as a Credit Analyst in their risk management group. I did that about a month and a half ago (just before my contract with TD ended). Haven't had much luck so far, but I am hoping to receive calls next week insha'Allah. Am hoping to get help from some guppies here though.
have u uploaded your resume on major company websites? like citigroup, goldman, mckenzie (if u get hired there help me out too), banks like BNY etc...
you can also apply through staffing agencies. I know of two: Abacusnyc.com and the tuttle agency. there have to be more that specialize in placing finance positions.
attend job fairs...i dont know if there are any coming up but there is usually a huge one at javits center.
and try the careerbuilder website as well as the new york times job search section.

Uhm there was a CUNY big apple job fair but it was in May.. im sure theres more that are held throughout the year though..
i duno if staffing agencies ar ehte best.. at least i havnt had any help from them (but its stil early so i duno)..
I had an interview with Fitch Ratings today, don't really think it went that well. I have my resume uploaded on quite a few websites. I guess, I'll start receiving calls next week, just as the holiday fever gets over. Shweet, weher do you work?
