NY Halal food carts

Thought this was interesting while getting lunch one day

Re: NY Halal food carts

LOL! My BIL was in NYC and he was in high heaven when he spotted the halal carts!

I guess the food is okay and it's definitely quick and easy and better than street meat!

Re: NY Halal food carts

Earlier I used to jump to halal carts without any hesitance but recent experiences have caused me stomach trouble and I just avoid it..

But ya for sure they are in great number in the entire city and many ppl who visit from other big cities like chicago or SF, get impressed to see this many here :)

Re: NY Halal food carts

The relatively latest craze is this brand: Rafiqi’s

http://www.yelp.com/biz/rafiqis-delicious-food-new-york-4

There are about 20 or more of these guys all over the city. One not too far from where I live as well. The gyro is pretty good cause they put some different stuff on there like corn and stuff. Anyway yeah like Sid said, even I avoid these guys (for the most part )cause of tummy issues.

Re: NY Halal food carts

So I guess you can take the theylay waala out of Pakistan/India, but not Pakistan/India out of the theylay waala - LOL

Re: NY Halal food carts

^theyre not all pakistani/indian.

Re: NY Halal food carts

^ I know :hinna:

I was just making a joke and comparing the tummy issues casused by NYC carts, to what happens when we go to Pakistani/Indian theylay waalas. Quite frankly, hotdog vendors have the same issues - ergo the name street meat.

Re: NY Halal food carts
