Nothing worng iwth naming it Afghania, but I think there should be a referendum on the issue. Let the people of NWFP decide.

Not every Afghan (e.g. Paki Pashtun) is an Afghanistani and not every Afghanistani (e.g. Tajik, Uzbek, Hazara) is an Afghan.
Afghan means Pashtun.
They will still be Pakistani just like Punjabis are Pakistanis, if Khalistan became independent from India and called itself Punjab it wouldn't mean Pak-Punjab is a part of it too.

The issue in the "bolded text" aside, I don't see any harm if pathans want to name their province something else. I seriously don't know what is the controversy behind it? Instead of being on the defensive, we should shove it to the fawwganistanis to suck it up as Pakistan as an entity has been accepted in the UN [it didn't do jack for fawwghanistanis to be against us in 1947] and the area chose pakistan in the referendum. KAPISH
While we are at it, make northern areas a part of Pakistan and delink it from kashmir as historically and culturally, it is not kashmiri.
As for those fawwghans who still try to do some misadventure, control them through intelligence like Israel's and BLAST THEM if that comes as a last resort.

They do have a right to call themselves whatever they want. But Afghania will at some point in future give rise to unification with Afghanistan. All border areas with a strong ethnic people split has this problem sooner or later. Oh well

Oh that's just a slogan for the near future. Only God knows what will be the map of this world in the year 3000.
However I can assure you that Afghanistan will be the same dusty, poverty stricken, warlord-infested land, unless a new Nabi comes and fixes this Gad-awful place of a country.
And any one "uniting" with Afghanistan will only do so in one way, occupy it and rape it like so many have done in the last many centuries.
Ruskies, Brits, then Commies, then Americans, then Europeans and the process of Afghan depravity goes on and on and on.

Errrrr Azad Kashmir (POK) which includes Muzafrabad and Mirpur are also NOT historically, culturally or linguistically a part of Kashmir, they should be made a part of Punjab... Also don't forget, Baltistan is HALF in Pakistan, the other half is in India, and Kashmiris of Kargil which is a part of Baltistan just like Skardu is VERY MUCH consider themselves kashmiri and also speak both koshur and shina.

Naming it Afghania doesnt necessarilly meanthey are no longer Pakistani... For them, Afghani is as much an ethnicity as it is a country. Still, its a controversial name.

i don’t agree, naming shud be unique otherwise kids get confused:D , see if they have question in geography which ask what is the capital of afghanistan, then what willl you write, Peshawar or Kabul

I think they should rename both Punjab and NWFP as Afghanistan. It will make Punjabis like moin happy and Pashtuns happy as well.

NWFP is a terrible name. I think it should be renamed Afghania in accordance with the history of Pakistan.
If there is a Baluchistan in Iran, Punjab in India then why not Afghania?

kia baat kar rahay ho bhai, Moin can be happy only if Punjab gets renamed to something like Al-Punjab but unfortunately his Arab "brothers" will be calling it "Al-Bunjab".
