I heard from everyone that once you start breastfeeding the pounds just melt off, actually had a friend who lost 25 pounds within 6 weeks of having her baby coz she was breastfeeding…
I was hoping I would be somewhat similar to her (wishful thinking ) but I haven’t lost anything except the 6-8 pounds after having the baby… how long does it take to see the weight loss. Pls share your experiences, did you do anything extra to get the ball rolling, did it affect your milk supply…
I had lost 20 lbs by my 6 week post partum mark.
I am still 7 lbs plus my pre pregnancy weight, which was already too much to begin with...:(
so I have a looong way to go...
I blame my erratic eating habits and food-is-my-comfort attitude for this...:(
Automne77- Dont worry girl....I'm in the same boat as you....I lost only 4 kgs at birth out of the 15 I gained during pregnancy... whats worse is, I gained a few pounds while breastfeeding, which was quite depressing...
I've recently weaned my son off of nursing...and just by watching my food intake...i've lost 3 kgs in 12 days...n hoping for it to continue for a while....I am sure I'll be left with a few pounds that won't come off that easy....but anything is better than nothing!
Some people lose while nursing while others after weaning...My friend lost 20 pounds in 3 months following weaning....so hang in there...It'll come off inshaAllah =)
With my first-born, I lost all of the pregnancy weight except those last 10 lbs .
Breastfeeding sure helped keep the weight off… but as soon as I weaned her (at 18 months), I started gaining and had to take up exercising to stay fit, before that no exercising, no dieting and I was fine
