Parents of children at a nursery school at the centre of a child porn probe are being asked to see if their own children can be identified in the sickening images.
The harrowing task for parents came as Vanessa George, a female teacher at the school, was today charged with sexual assault and making indecent images of children.
Senior officers told the press this afternoon that they were currently trying to identify a ‘small number’ of images on a camera phone, some of which were taken inside the nursery in Plymouth.
And detectives fear that hundreds or even thousands more pictures could come to light from confiscated computer equipment.
This is disgusting. I don't understand where the other nursery nurses were when she was doing all of this. There are always atleast 4 adults in every nursery setting.
I very rarely close my classroom door when I dont have a TA with me and this is the main reason why I do not hug to comfort crying children. Child Protection is huge and should be respected at all times.
She was not a teacher, she was a nursery worker. How she managed to get away with this in a working nursery is beyond me. Sad thing is, she will not get the punishment she deserves by the British justice system..
Milly - I know what you mean about touching a child.. I'm lucky I've got older ones but sometimes the girls want to hug me or play with my jewellery etc... It's very hard to tell them no, but you have to look after your professional reputation. I personally know of a teacher who was suspended after a false accusation. Is still suspended despite being found not guilty in court....

My children are 5 and 6, some constantly cry for attention, but I just don't hug (not much of a hugger anyway) but I usually just give them a little pat on the head kind of thing. I just think about how they would rephrase it to their parents if I ever were to hug them, as usually children leave out the context of the situation.
A nursery school worker was jeered and spat at when she appeared in court today, charged with sexual assault and making and distributing child abuse images.
Vanessa George, 39, who worked at the Little Ted's nursery in Plymouth, was remanded in custody amid angry scenes in and outside the city's magistrates court.
George, of Plymouth, faces three counts of sexual assault on girls and one on a boy. She is also accused of making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children.
The charges relate to offences alleged to have taken place between 1 January 2007 and June this year.
The first charge relates to an assault in Plymouth of a girl aged around one. In the second, she is alleged to have touched an "infant girl". The third is a serious sexual assault on an "infant boy". Another involved an alleged serious sexual assault on an "infant girl".
The other three charges were that she took, possessed and distributed indecent images of children.
Before George appeared, the magistrate, Hilary Anderson, warned parents in court not to disrupt the hearing.
"This case is of a very sensitive nature and I would like to remind those in the public gallery that they should remain silent during proceedings," she said.
"Anyone causing disruption will be removed from the court and if necessary the court would be cleared."
George, wearing a white T-shirt and black trousers, spoke only to confirm her name and address. She entered no pleas.
She was jeered and hissed by people in the public gallery as she emerged from the steps below the dock.
As details of the charges were read, parents cried and yelled, with one man running from the court in tears. When George was led away, a man leaped from the public gallery and spat at her.
Outside court, there were more angry scenes as people shouted at the police van carrying George away. Some chased the vehicle, hurling bottles of water and a substance that looked like flour. Two men were removed by police after blocking the path of the van.
Prosecutor Michael French applied for the case to be sent immediately to the crown court. No application for bail was made and George was remanded in custody. She is due to next appear at Plymouth crown court on 21 September .

Does not this makes such countries a pathetic place to live where you can not even hug a crying child, kiss him/her, console him/her, coz you have this fear that you may be accused of doing some indecent act with the child ?
I mean this is really sad ,there is no humanity left in some places of the world.

no its not a law to don't hug a crying child in your class but just to be on the safer side most teachers avoid it because even a slight child abuse is taken very very seriously in UK and so many teachers have lost their jobs even without proven to guilty......so please don't underestimate the Britons in this regard.

Simple answer: NO
Children protection laws are a huge responsibilty and if any adult working with any child in any situation knows whats best for them they will not hug a child.
Just imagine the following situation.
3 year old to mummy: Miss Milly hugged me today
Mummy: Why?
3 year old: shrugs shoulders.
Children (even as old as 10) forget to say the context in which the hug was given.
I think any parent could possible have the potential of asking the teacher why they were hugging their child.
As for kissing? Dude, no one and I mean NO one I have ever worked with in a child setting has ever kissed a child that they teach/look after. I personally would never kiss a child that I teach. Who does that?
