Re: nursery day care
I think it all depends on each kid.
My son started going to a daycare when he was 4 months old so he was ok as he did not know much. Then there was a period when he was around 10 months had started recognizing and would cry when I left him. I usually had to sneak out while someone was holding him.
Due to certain circumstances we changed his daycare and he was very upset initially, he would cry when i leave him and would be very sad some days.
Everyone at the daycare told me he would be ok in 2 to 3 weeks but he continued to cry or be upset for I think atleast 2 months in the morning. I would call and ask and usually within an hour he would be ok.
Now I drop him and stay outside his calss for a couple of minutes. He is all busy with his friends within a minute.
I know it very devastating for a mother but I am lucky that he has a very very nice teacher in his class who gets along with kids very well and is very loving. She usually takes him to show him something interesting in the morning so his attention is diverted when i leave.
It will get better inshaAllah with time once the kid gets accustomed to the teacher and other kids and the routine.
Now my son is so interested in the games, books etc that some days it takes me atleast 15 minutes to get him out of his class in the evening.
Also it was avery difficult period for me as I could not discuss this with anyone, no one gave me any tasali :( but instead made me feel more guilty for leaving him at the daycare.
Re: nursery day care
of course it DOES get better and, inshaa Allah, it WILL! :) ... my neice cried most part of her intial days at the nursery for days...she was fine afterward and she enjoyed every moment that she spent there...Good Luck :)

breaks my heart every time....but yes it gets better...
Re: nursery day care
It gets better. It's hard for the first few days. They are professionals and know how to take care of children. And children are more resilient than you can imagine.
Re: nursery day care
Red Ruby...as someone who works in a school and always sees children who cry, i can tell you that by the time you get back to your car, your child would've been happily playing!!!! I think its always worse for the parents than it is for the child!!!!
