ok for me.. its a mattress.. then there is the top mattress.. on top of that is the rubber sheet .. its just a flat sheet.. i dont think i have ever seen a fitted rubber sheet.. ontop of the rubber sheet.. i have the fitted sheet which covers the whole matress.. then i lay on the matching bedding like flat sheet with pillow case and quilt cover... i only change the fitted sheet once a month as the baby doesnt lie directly on it so it doesnt get dirty that fast..
how long ARE those cords for bumpers??? ours are long enough to JUST about make a bow tie outta them... like.. max 7cm long.. i cant see how any baby can choke or strangle themselves on that? maybe some bumpers do have longer cords ... i say check them out and then buy the ones with shorter cords.
we've always had bumpers for babies in our family.. we have some pretty wild sleepers in the family like my son who will thrash around in the crib.. ic ant imagine him always bumping his head on teh railings if there were no bumper. ouch
