How many of you would/have gotten a prenup?
Why?
Re: Nupping it in the bud
wopuld not have, did not and would not want to.
why?
did not think it was needed or necessary.
it may make sense for some people though.
Re: Nupping it in the bud
Not rich enough :D
Re: Nupping it in the bud
PCG, girls get it any way...its called "Haq maher"
Re: Nupping it in the bud
Prenup and Haq mehar are not the same.
Re: Nupping it in the bud
would you care to explain what a prenup is then
Re: Nupping it in the bud
A girl could get her haq mehar and if she lives in the US can still divorce her husband and sue for half their marital assets.
Same concept, different courts
Re: Nupping it in the bud
The concept is the same, except that in some states, I believe that if a female makes more than her husband, then at divorce he can walk away with half of what she's worth, or at least some percentage.
Haq Mehar is security for the female. And its a certain amount. And even with a haq mehar, in American courts, she can still go for a lawsuit (like damages from an extra-marital affair, etc).
Re: Nupping it in the bud
Shame on any guy who does not get a pre-nup and lets a gal walk away with 50% of his hard earned assets. I mean c'mon guys don't be emotional, no matter how much you THINK she loves you, gettin a pre-nup never hurt.
I know at least one such guy who was living the life he had always dreamt of but suddenly after the divorce was devastated. Imagine someone who has worked hard all his life, while he was working long hours and pulling big bonuses his wife was laying her ass on a leather sofa licking caviar off the spoon. Now this guy is living in an apartment in a mediocre neighborhood. He does not have a leather sofa and instead of the 45” wide screen t.v has a 25” t.v, drinks heavily and always talks about how he has lost everything he earned.
My advice to all the guys is: Don’t let them biaatches walk away with YOUR money… the money YOU earned… you deserve it and you alone! Just to be on the safe side, get a pre-nup.
P.S Donald Trump is a big fan of pre nups…that’s coz he learnt his lesson the hard way.
Re: Nupping it in the bud
^right on brother...us men get screwed everytime..upon divorce we lose our kids, our money, and what not...the rules need to be changed..
Re: Nupping it in the bud
c'mon guys thats not a nice thing to say.
if i ever was in that situation, i would spend around 10 - 20 K and take care of the problem where i wont have to deal with prenup.
Re: Nupping it in the bud
most women have to wait for their haq mehr till the time she becomes a widow, she gets the money on the death of her husband. Or on divorce as i know in 1 case!
Re: Nupping it in the bud
Depends what the law in your country states. If the wife can run off with 50% then you're definately better off with a pre-nup. Don't even give it a second thought. This 50% thing is way off and just shows what a materialistic world we live in. Protect your assets and don't let the bitch take your hard earnings. If a woman had any honour and dignity she'd take whats hers (her own earnings) and not half her husband's wealth.
Supporting kids is another matter.
Re: Nupping it in the bud
I don't think I would do it. If I were that uncertain about the guy, I wouldn't marry him, I think.
Besides, I'm a teacher. What's he gonna take?
Re: Nupping it in the bud
lol, I agree with Sahar. I would be really offended/insulted if I was asked to sign a pre-nup. Besides, I have no real assets and I can't see myself taking anything belonging to someone else. It is very unlike me to do that ...
I started a discussion on this topic last year after watching an episode of Sex and the City when Charlotte is asked to sign a pre-nup. :p
Re: Nupping it in the bud
^I've seen that. Her MIL was scary!
Re: Nupping it in the bud
Yeah, she was an absolutely nightmare! How does a person decide how much is really enough when signing a pre-nup? Charlotte agreed to a million dollars, but her friends felt she was worth a lot more than that .... it sounds like a business deal. I guess the same can be applied to haq mehr since there are families out there who demand a ridiculous amount of money .... how much is really enough?
