Many of us aware/read online that in the Holy Qur’an, there are some words which appeared so and so numbers of time and by calculating it, it gives the accurate result. For Example: 'A so and so word if counted than it will shows the correct number of days, month or a year same as calender.
My question is:
Is such calculation correct and passing it to others by saying that b’coz of such miracles mentioned in this book, it is a true divine book?
there is a book written by barHoom BR. Ahmad Deedaat of South Africa entitled ‘Miracles of Qur’aan’ and i’ve read this book. there are amazing numerical facts mentioned there which can ONLY make your iimaan stronger.
in sura e Muzammil there is an aaya which says “over it are Nineteen”…up until now Mufassireen described that number as the number of Angels guarding the jannat and the jahannam. now, in this book, he argues that since Allah has taken the responsibility to guard the Qur’aa so Allah has a inter-locking numerical device ingrained in the text to guard against any additions and deletions by humans. and, that miraculous/magical number is 19.
it’s worth a read. there is no absolute guarantee that it is 100% true but it ALL makes SENSE! it can ONLY enhance your iimaan.
Never known about number 19. Can you share the links related to that, if possible.
Secondly, there are many many books (other than Holy Qur'an) which words if calculated will give you the correct answer. Is that mean those are also 'divine books' or else?

i read the hard copy of the book...i duuno about any online links.
your title of the thread talks about numerical miracles of Qur'aan so let's stick to Qur'aan ONLY!...i do NOT read other religions because i am FULLY satisfied with what i have other than what's mentioned in Qur'aan-e-Kareem so i wouldn't want to discuss other religions.
Avoid the number 19 alleged miracle ... There is no basis for it. There are others worth mentioning, but not number 19, this was introduced by a sect who reject Hadith.
Ummah has been interested in numbers always that is why we have number 786. People usually write it instead of bismillah. In ancient languages people used to write letters for numbers as well because there were no symbols for representing numbers. So letter were given so called alphanumerical values. Numbers were also used as checksum for verses and surahs by past muslims. That is what people write in taweez they issue ie a table with numbers in it representing a surah for example.
In 20th century rashad khalifah an egyptian settled in usa discovered that in the quranic text certain letters occurred as exact multiples of number nineteen. That is basically explained in the following link. This was later taken up by ahmed deedat who delivered lectures about it and wrote a booklet as well. For example, if we take surah 50 and count number of QAAFs in it, they occur exactly 57 times in it and that is exact multiple of 19 ie 3x19=57. The basis for it is taken from 74/30. In the quran bismillah occurs 114 times and that is exact multiple of 19.
Although submitters have somewhat different concept about islam their numerical research on the quran may be worth taking on for further studies to see where it leads.
^ Their research of the number 19 has led them to conclude that an ayat of the Qur'an has been added.
The basmillah that occurs before each surah except Surah Taubah is not a counted ayat. The general rule of numerology is that the number is a short hand for the words and letters. The miracle of number has a different significance and is nearly always a comparison.
For example: Whenever one thing is said to be "like" another thing in the Qur'an THEN there is a pattern to be seen. i.e. number of times 'Adam' occurs is equal to the number of times 'Isa' occurs, but this is only relevant because Isa (AS) is said to be like Adam (AS).
Also when something is said to be unlike another thing then the number of times those two things occur always have a difference of one count.
This is the extent of the number pattern because it is logically consistent. Different = delta 1 and same = equivalent count.
When people bring so and so to be a multiple of another number - they need to describe the significance of the multiple in terms of true meanings, it is not enough to say wow look at this ... - there needs to be a definite reason behind the correlation being made ... otherwise it is just like seeing elephants in clouds.
From the example above ... Ok why choose Surah 50? why look at the Qaafs? Why multiple of 3? What comparison is being made between Surah 50, Qaaf and 3 in order for 19 to be meaningful other than the fact that they compute together with some algorithm to form 19 which is the number of angels? What significance has angels with the letter Qaaf, number 3 and Surah 50?
This is clearly a different type of thing compared to what I mentioned above. This thing is more closer to what astrologers do whereas the previous example is a mathematical balancing against the normative equation of "like" and "unlike" ...
Dear psyah, we cannot know things unless we get involved and find out things. If a pattern has been discovered by someone then may be some one else will be able to theorise the pattern. All I am saying is we should not discount the idea just because it is discovered by people we may disagree with.
You don't make a discovery first and then cherry pick reasons for it afterwards ... The basis for my rejection is as explained in my previous post it is nothing to do with them being deviated from the Ahl-us-Sunnah. I spent a lot of time looking in to the number 19 so called miracle and it is not there ... according to my mathematical nouse.
Dear lethal kamikaze, according to submitters when surah 74 is interpreted their way, number nineteen becomes important in the sense that verse bismillah is said to be seal of the quran. imagine you are given pieces of 114 different jigsaw puzzles and you have to pack them up into a single sack ensuring they all remain separate from each other with minimum number of sacks. You separate 113 with separate sacks but the last one remains separated automatically when you put all sacks in the same sack and the last jigsaw puzzle. This is why the quran has 114 surahs but only 113 bismillahs for this purpose. The last 114th bismillah is used in a different context in surah 27. In there prophet sulaiman send a message to the queen of sheba and the message begins with bismillah.
According to them the number of letters used in bismillah is 19. From this they derive the idea that the quran is protected by code 19. How that works in their view is that if we look at abbreviated letter in the quranic surahs they occur in exact multiples of number 19 eg in surah QAAF ie surah 50, qaaf occurs 57 in the surah which is exact multiple of 19 ie 19x3=57. This happens for all letters in the beginnings of the surahs with such letters.
If you are interested in this see if you get hold of ahemed deedat’s booklet or you can see the explanation on their own website.
Hi, just saw this. Interesting. My father is a great believer in the no. 19 and accepts it as a "mathematical miracle" in the quran. Any submitters here?
I do accept the 19 miracle, agree to that code. But I always get confused. Anyways, the man that realized this miracle, Rashid Khalifa was right- until he thought himself as a messenger of God and rejected a Quran ayat.
