Daffy we cut down loads of ppl on my wedding but still had a whopping 875 ppl on the barat :bummer: and the in laws had 300 ppl in the barat
My mehndi was a very small segregated event. Just 200 ppl.

Got a huge family. :confused:

About 100-200 for the mehndi and baraat.

300+ for your own function (shadi or valima) +100-200 of the other side.

Eek! It's good I have a relatively small family :D 100 on mehndi 300 on barat would be the guess

Wow....some of you had HUGE weddings!

Those of you who had more than 500....out of curiosity....were those events in Pakistan? I've been to LARGE shaadi's back home...but the largest I've attented in the U.S. was around 400.

At mine I expect approx. 200-225. LOL....now that we're planning the wedding....I see each "name" on the guest list as a $$$ sign...lol. It's amazing how fast the cost adds up.

50 for mehndi (IL’s didnt come since they were busy with SIL’s engagement the SAME day so I was happy we didnt have to spend a penny on disinterested people :snooty: )

150 for baraat from our side (though we invited around 300 people but arranged for 150 because most of them were my collegues from hospitals I worked in and the function being a day-event on weekdays , again thanks to IL’s , we knew most of them wont turn up) and 100 from their side

walima=30 from our side since it was not in Lahore (yet again courtesy IL’s for arranging on a weekday since they were lazy enough for bookings and couldnt get one for weekends) and I dont know how many from their side…maybe 200 ?

And looking back, I feel everything would’ve been the same with my life with complaining relatives and all if we did a nikah with 20 people invited in a masjid followed by a rukhsati and donated/saved what we spent on the events !!!

My wedding was 500+ in Karachi, then another event of around 250 in the US.

My brother's wedding was about 475 in the US. And there were people who could not attend or we wished we could've invited.

lol.. 50 and 80 are still too much.. i once attended a wedding for photography and there were only 9 people. The wedding was held in TV lounge where Geo channel was on air. The bride was just interested in her photoshoot and photography. And yes including ME there were total 10 people.
