GTG Thanks for the gift and the cookies … they were very nice and it was very sweet of you…
And yes I am still looking for biryani, since shinoos already taken me off her wedding list ![]()
^Awww I haven't!!!
U'll get double biryani :)
I always wanted a simple wedding with a limited number of guests , but there were around 1000 guests at my wedding..... When parents and elders are there to decide,we eventually have to give in i guess. If it was my decision.i would have had a very simple wedding !
2 words.... LAS VEGAS
We had 300 at the Shadi, 300 at the Walima. 100 at the mayoon and 30-40 each night for the dolki's the week of the wedding.
I wanted to do a seperate small nikkah but my Father in law vetowed that so it was at the Shadi hall.
Of the 300 at the Shadi hall, 40 people were relatives, 60 were friends, the rest were my parent's friends
At the walima there were about 20 relatives, 20 friends of my husband and me and the rest were my in-laws friends.
Yes it does get impossible to keep it small and i didn't fight that because i knew my parents wanted others to share in our joy. Honestly there were so many people i grew up with, friends of my mom's auntys and uncles who were delighted to be a part of the shadi.

hehe u will get the "special" invitation ;)
at my sisters wedding..
the mehndi 250(mainly females)
nikkah/shaadi day-600 were the planned amount...but all us other sisters/cousins snuck in our own friends so it was more around 700
walima-only 400
haha at my sister's wedding we had more ppl in the mehndi than the shaadi. I think she invited her non Muslim friends to dance, and forgot to invite them to the shaadi.
Re: Number of guests at a wedding?
i think 50 is gud enuff. But if ur parents insist , it cud go to 75, more than dat wud be trouble.
