India tested its first nuke in '74 and only has 10-20 in '99 while pak tested in 98 and has 50 in '99? Is this a report or a joke? Iran will have 10-20 nukes by year 2020, iran as we see in the news is in doggy style position in front of UN/US and can never have nukes - it might come up with some type of dirty bomb or something but no nukes.
by year 2020 pakistan will also have SLBMs and india as well. this reports got too many errors. showing threats which do not really exist.
The same excuse will be made for Pak as they did for Iraq.
The report is a Joke.
It's 20 years out of date.
Iraq doesn't even have an army never mind an Islamic Bomb and Russia is cutting down on it's over 7,000 nuclear warheads.
And what I don't understand is why China is so slow at making more weapons or fattening it's nuclear arsenal!
Most reports place the number of Pakistani nukes between 50-70. India is estimated to have around 70-90/ About 1:1.5.
Reports vary. Some favor us, others them.
We need a war free zone.

I don't think the number matters...
Numbers matter when it comes to nuclear weapons. It's the only way to demonstrate that the nation is fully equiped to defend the herself.

Owen Bennet Jones in his excellent book Pakistan: The eye of the storm gives current estimate of the number of nuclear bombs Pakistan has at between 125 to 150. The book was published in 2001 I believe.
Minerva: I agree, beyond about 10 bombs, the numbers don't matter.
Gupistani: UK has only about 64 nuclear devices but it is enough of a deterrent to China or any other country except USA. So Pakistan has 150 bombs but before it can deploy them all, India's 25 bombs would destroy every major city of Pakistan. Going nuclear route for defense is sheer madness. Are you willing to accept the loss of every major city of yours (meaning all your rishtedaars) to launch a futile war with India?
Both India and Pakistan should disarm immediately and spend their money ($3 billion a year for Pakistan and $10 to 15 billion per year for India for defense) on something more useful.
