Pro war pro this pro that people please take it easy. Please show some maturity and lets not continue beating this drum that modi has started.
A nuclear war is no joke. This is not 1945. Nuclear warheads that these countries have have yields of 100+ hiroshimas each. The fallout will be huge and after effects like food shortages nuclear winters will be felt around the world for centuries. Kuch munasib kar lo yaar.
This is all Media’s fault. Prying on people’s emotions and throwing their common sense out the window. I just talked to my indian friend, and he goes yea Pakistan shot down Indian planes for no reason… I am like uh they were in Pak’s air space though. And he had no clue about this, you see how leaving out one vital info starts the spiral? Let’s just hope the people in charge have some damn common sense. Everyone advocating this should be required to read the aftermath of nagaski and hiroshima. I know that tech is old now but even back then it was so destructive.
If you consider all things happening for last few days, it doesnt take a genius to notice the BIG difference between Pak and Indian media, celebrities, politicians and even common people.
Let me generalize here. Most Indians are extremely war fanatics. After that suicide attack in Kashmir (done by a local kashmiri), entire India all over was saying only one thing: Attack Pakistan. Do this , do that. Pakistanis were laughing it off.
And then they did. Attack happened. Right after that there were celebrations like something. Pick one known indian who wasnt. And the calls to “finish the job” by decimating Pakistan.
and then Pakistan took their planes down. Now how many Pakistanis are celebrating or calling to decimate Indians? Look at the speech of IK today. He gave two examples bang on target and after that you dont even have to watch above videos. Right when we have much bigger hand, he spoke only and only about Peace. Most of the journalists, and other Pakistanis are talking on the same line.
So if you cant see the difference and only blame Pakistanis, then its a very biased opinion.
Will India become the first country to go to war because of the jingoistic frenzy whipped up by the television channels and social media? Asks Rajiv Tyagi, former pilot of the Indian Air Force.
In conversation with Newsclick?s Editor-in-chief Prabir Purkayasth, Tyagi says we should be worried about the ultra-nationalism being spread by particular retired generals.
