Lets talk about Nawaz sharif and taliban issue
Nawaz Sharif and Co is the worst possible constituency when it comes to dealing with tlaliban
**first, nawaz sharif simply does not have mental as well as intellectual capacity **to handle this issue on a long term basis. He has failed and will always fail to comprehend the long term consequences of talibanizatiton as his mental make-up is inherently sympathetic towards taliban and their demands. He and his family are religious and feel obliged to have sharia in pakistan ..not so long ago he was willing to declare himself amir momaneen. He is not a fundo but mentally inclined towards the religious rightist camp.
second, he does not have political will to do so. He and his brother have decided that as long they win punjab decisively they can rule pakistan. Nawaz is scared to face the potential backlash in punjab if he orders an operation against taliban…lets put it this way..he does not want any bomb in anarkali but he is OK if qisa khawani bazar keeps getting bombed in peshawar.
Third, nature-wise he is a businessman and any businessman inherently is a coward/careful person who tries to avoid too much risk…NS simply does not have that kind of leadership potential which you need in this kind of situation. He is afraid that if he makes the operation decision taliban will either kill him or his close family members.
fourth, Ik has put him in a tough spot both politically and strategically…unfortunately majority of Pakistani masses especially in punjab sympathize with taliban as they hate USA. NS does not want to lose political ground to IK among punjabi masses by ordering an operation against taliban and by sounding pro-american. He wants to make sure that IK himself asks for a military operation
fifth, NS has a troubled relationship with army…he is afraid that once this operation is on its way and starts to get unfold there could be gazalllion unintended consequences and amry may take benefit of them to topple NS govt.
so not much hope from NS…
but jaissee quam waisee hukmaran…what can be a future of a country where majority of common masses consider osama to be a hero and taliban as mujahidin!
