Now what .......is this end of world

Hi
ok guys help my friend, and this is the problem he did SEX now what he asked me and i just told him not to do it agian and pray to God for his mercy but he was not satisficed and he says what gonna happen now so what shall he do what if he do it again

so lets see who can help him.

Dear brother AmericanDesi,

Assalaamu 'alaykum,

First and foremost, as you advised your friend, he must repent for his sin and ask Allaah - subhaan wa ta'aala - for tauba (forgiveness).

However, for his repentence to be accepted, there are certain conditions that need to be fulfilled.

Firstly, he must be sincere in his repentence. Secondly, he must feel remorse for his sinful action. Thirdly, he must not return to the sin after he has repented and keep right away from it.

... and Allaah is Most Merciful and Oft-Forgiving.

Aside this, if he is anxious about returning to the sin, then he must determine the root cause of his sinful actions and illeviate its desire. Perhaps ne needs to marry, or maybe he is in a job or living environment were he is exposed to such fitnah, in which case he must move away from such a place. It may even be that his companions are not a good influence. In any case, if he feels the urge to commit the sin again, it is vital that he tackles the problem from the root, and sincerely and continuously supplicates to Allaah to keep him away from the sin and asks Allaah - subhaan wa ta'aala - to guide him.

... and Allaah knows best

"No leaf falls except that He knows of it, and no rain drop forms except that He has willed it."

Allah the Most High says in His Glorious Book:

"Say: O My servants who have transgressed against their souls! Do not despair of Allah's Mercy, for Allah forgives all sins. He is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Merciful." (39:53)

"And whoever does evil, or wrongs his own soul, but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Merciful." (4:110)

"Whoever turns in repentance (to Allah) and (thereafter) does righteous good deeds; then verily he has repented to Allah with true repentance." (25:71)

This is answered in one of the verses i quoted above. Allah Most High says: "Say: O My servants who have transgressed against their souls! Do not despair of Allah's Mercy, for Allah forgives ALL sins. He is indeed Oft-Forgiving, Merciful." (39:53). So it is not true that there is no forgiveness for this sin.

Hasnain, already touched on this. He must sincerely resolve not to repeat the sin. However, if he returns to the same sin it doesn't mean that his earlier repentance is nullified. But he must try his best to avoid repeating it and Hasnain gave some good suggestions as to how that could be achieved.

And Allah is the One Who grants success.

Hmmmm.... while this ayat (I didn't cross check the reference, so I am assuming u posted it in correct context) does suggest forgiveness of ALL sins, I think exceptions are given elsewhere. It is very well-known that Allah will not forgive SHIRK. So it may be a non-issue here, but are you sure zina is part of this "ALL" forgiveness and not part of some exception?

The verse you are referring to is Qur'an 4:48 which says: "Verily Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him but He forgives except that to whom He wills..."

This verse does not contradict the earlier verse i cited which explains that Allah forgives ALL sins. This is because each of the two verses apply to different situations. This verse (4:48) refers to Allah's dealings with a person after his or her death. Here Allah is saying that if you die on any sin other than shirk (in effect, if you die as a believer), He is fully prepared to forgive you those sins even if you hadn't repented from them during your life. But if you die as a mushrik, believing in shirk then this is something He will not forgive you for. Once you die, the door of repentance is closed which is why verse 4:48 doesn't mention repentance at all.

The earlier verse relates to a persons life before death. In that verse Allah explains that we shouldn't despair of His Mercy because so long as we are alive and prepared to repent, He is willing to forgive us ALL sins whether that includes shirk or anything else.

I hope that makes sense.

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I, for one, never knew that shirk is an unforgivable sin only if the person dies before repentance. Based on what you say, its only if a person dies as a mushrik, that it will not be forgiven. Interesting.

Anyway, I think we should get back to the topic at hand, which is about zina and its repentence.

If one thinks about it, there are examples in the Qur'an of people committing shirk and yet Allah still sent them Prophets to ask them to change their ways. The Prophet Muhammad's (s) own people committed shirk and he persuaded many of them to leave that and accept Islam. This shows that it is perfectly possible for someone involved in shirk to mend their ways and gain Allah's acceptance during this life. However, if they persist in shirk and die in that state then, as per the verse cited earlier, Allah has said that their chance has passed and He will not forgive anyone who dies a mushrik.
