Now this takes some balls...

You’re totally right about the lack of effort put in by the players, they’re paid so much I doubt some of them even give a sh!te that they underperformed. You definitely can’t coach a team that doesn’t put in 100%.

But, in England’s case where you have personalities who place so much self importance on themselves…you need someone who can and is willing to kick them back to reality. I just don’t think Fabio can handle the drama queens in the squad.

When the sh!t hit the fan in South Africa and things weren’t going England’s way (I think they assumed the group stage would be a breeze) there was no authority from Fabio. I’m not saying he isn’t a good manager…I just don’t think he can handle the big personalities that make up the team especially under pressure. There were times when the squad were close to pulling a stunt like the French…

That being said, I don’t think many people want to take up the position of England manager…remember when Sven left and Scolari was linked? He practically ran in the opposite direction when he got hounded by the journalists. There’s just too much pressure.

I can’t see any major reshaping of the England squad anytime soon. But, that is what’s needed for England to ever acheive anything Their salaries need to be slashed for starters…just look at how much the German squad were paid in comparison.
