How’s the weather like? During the day and evenings? What’s a girl supposed to pack? I’m visiting over a month and coming from Saudi so don’t have much winter clothing with me. Shall I buy from there? Oh, and absolute must visit places please? I have a busy schedule
Wish I had more time to enjoy it.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
bring at least one heavy winter jacket with hood, a pair of gloves and snow shoes...you might need them as soon as you arrive in London and before you get to your host's home!
Re: Nov-Dec in London
It’ll be snowing that time?
I heard about it but never thought it would be so soon. Snow shoes as in? I have never owned a pair in my life ![]()
Re: Nov-Dec in London
it can snow in December. you may land right in the middle of a blizzard even.
snow shoes have thick rubber soles which prevent slipping and also has insulated interior to keep your feet warm and it’s laces are usually above ankle to avoid snow getting in your shows where there is a pile of snow.
i mentioned snow shoes [NOT boots] from slipping point of view…if you have never walked on snow before, you better have one coz a slip N fall can be dangerous.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
Where will I find this in sunny-all-year-round-KSA?
Looks like I have more shopping on my hands than I thought.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
I was in London in mid Sep and it was pretty chilly in the evenings. Life savers for me (other than jacket) were comfy shoes and leggings. There is a LOT to see and do in London, and it's likely that you will walk around quite a bit. If you are going to visit museums, malls etc, dress in layers so you stay comfortable indoors too.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
well, i dunno. may be ask your relatives to bring at least a winter jacket when they come to pick you up. make sure you wear a rubber sole shoes. s scarf and gloves may be very helpful…let’s hope that the weather will NOT be so bad as i depicted. i could be clear weather but COLD deffo! be prepared as much as you can.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
I could barely tolerate Lahore’s freezing temperatures, my problem is if I feel cold and uncomfortable, I refuse to leave the front of my heater
. Jackets are no problem, but this boot thing is top priority for me now.

By comfy, you mean flats right? There goes my idea of looking great with my 4 inch stilettos.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
^ Well flats are most comfy, but I wore block heels. Not as good looking as stilettos, but I could walk around all day in them. You can buy boots for winter and wear them over leggings or skinny jeans.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
lolzzz…once you get there, buy high heel upto the knee stylish boots…which don’t guarantee comfort lol…like this one:

Re: Nov-Dec in London
Get some warm under garments as well. Some time November is cold and some time, it is not. Last year (2011 was ok) but 2010 was extremely cold with snow as well.
December is most likely to be cold - may be freezing by new year eve.

^i like my nose where it is on my face and my eyes un-bruised, thank you very much!! ![]()
They are nice though. ![]()

Thank you, all this seems like such a challenge to buy here. I've never really had much to think about warming up for winter or worrying about slipping over streets before.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
Bring all your essential things (for whole of your stay) like toothpaste, creams, polishes, shoe polishes as you may feel they are expensive here.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
lol…don’t worry! to be honest visitors from the Middle East [who have never been to a cold climate] should stay away from visiting London during December to February as they are supposed to be the most miserable winter months…unless you wanna be with the family…mostly indoors!
Re: Nov-Dec in London
It is better to ask people who will receive you - they buy for you and when you land - they can give you - I mean all your warm stuff.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
Snow boots is probably a bit extreme. Just some good boots, or trainers with grip.
Also a good rain coat and umbrella. Jeans, jumpers, winter clothes....cos its gonna get cold and will almost likely rain!
Re: Nov-Dec in London
These are the worst month to visit London - sun goes down at 4 and wont be back before 8. The good months to come here are from June to September.
Re: Nov-Dec in London
When you go outside, you need to wear at least 4 layers - one undergarment, then your shirt, and then a pull over and then your warm coat and with hat and gloves.
