I want to know what is the best spots at nothern areas to go with families??? i hear about balistan , saiful-maluk and kaghan naran is the best places to go with families for picnic purpose but still i have some confusion that there is not well condition due to some gorillas over there fightings talibans or extremists ???
what about ur openions ??? now a days nothern areas are safe to go for picnic or not???
also i want to know picnic spots at quetta …

As far as i know, murree bhurban are still safe.
but ayyubia, kaghan, nathiangali are anot advisable.

I went to Naran/Kaghan in July 2008 and there was no problem. I went to Northern Areas (Gilgit, Hunza etc) in June 2009 and there was not even a single problem. No problems in Murree, Bhurban, Ayubia, Khanaspur Nathiagali etc (been there 4 times since 2004). The only problem is in the North-West region like Swat and tribal areas (people often mistake it with Northern Areas). InshaALLAH that problem will be over soon. Northern Areas (including Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, Khunjerab etc.) are very beautiful and people are very friendly & amazing.

The only area I would avoid going is Swat. There are no problems in Murree, the Galiyat, Kaghan, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu except the day-to-day ones.
As for Quetta - you could go to Ziarat and Hanna Jheel but keep away from the Baloch areas. Extremist Baloch nationalists have targetted Punjabis.
