Not sure on future study.

Hi,

I am in two minds about undertaking further study. I am adamant that I will not study more History, and whilst I enjoy IR/Politics, I am not sure if that’ll translate into a year long commitment.

Thus I applied for the PGCE, if successful in my application it would solve everything.

In short, I am not sure what I want.

How do I go about deciding.

Go to your career center. At my university they evaluate you accoring to your interests and skills and then they tell you a list of professions that would meet your interest and skills.

so go to your university career center and get some career counseling.

i'd say Go wid the Flow, do whatever make u Happy..dont listen to anyone, including ur parents..Good Luck tho

I second that, Don’t Listen To Anyone Including Your Parents. Yes, it does sound rude and disrespectful and all but at the end you are the only one who suffers. I did listen to my parents and everyone else and now I am suffering.

This is the career center website of my university. There is a self assesment on this site too. May be take the assesment and explore different majors and careers.

i m as much confused as u r if not more about deciding what I want to do about my career so i wouldnt wanna say anything....cuz suggestions from a confused gal would only make u more confused;)

Ok Bristol made me an unconditional offer (what can I say....it is huge :D ), and I have the Kings one too.

what are the offers? which one do you like the best? which one seems more long lasting? Did you talk to your parents about it?

Offers:

Bristol. Uncon. MSc Intl Security

KCl: Uncon. MA Modern History

Both are good unis. Course wise, I'd prefer MSc, but its pass mark is 60%! ( :( )KCL is 50%.

What course has more potential for a career overaseas?

I need to get this call right, so I am happy for all advise and so on.
