^ age 4-5 is the age when they are developing their social skills and yet already potty trained, can speak properly and understand the concept of school and what not. That is a very good time for them to start Pre-K or kindergarden so they can meet kids of their age
There is no burden on them. They just play, talk, learn few basic things, go on field trips what not, and that only for very few hours (2-3) of the day and not even every day of the week (only 3 days maybe)
As far as pre-school is concerned (which is 4 and lower), I agree that it shoul be done if needed
i absolutely agree with you...there is no haram at the age of 5 +. But below that age...like some of the posters mentioned like sending 2 to 3 years old to pre school. Thats not fair.If my ammi Abu did that to me i would sue them for such torture. :P
