You should consider the community where you live when you're making this decision. I also did not attend school until kindergarten and I think thats the best way to be a kid. But we live in a community where the vast majority of kids start pre-k between age 2 and age 3. By the time they get to kindergarten, they have friendships established and the routine of classroom down pat. It seems the way of life here and I think its best to go with the flow for something like this. Its not like they're sitting down to learn algebra...pre-k is all about fostering a love of learning new things and learning how to interact with others. Given a choice, I'd prefer to live in a community where my kids can be just kids lol! at least till kindergarten. but thats not the way of things in our community.
