Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

…and i’ll say it. My face needs a good quality SLR camera to not look goofy or half asleep.

at dance class after sweating it out our Zumba teacher always takes a selfie pic of the whole class and I look like crap everytime!!! Lighting matters quality matter

That’s why I hate having my picture taken unless I am totally prepared and I have a few test pics taken before the real thing.

I feel like i’m the only one that’s so picture sensitive and can’t take spontaneous spur of the moment cellphone pics.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

People often say I look better in real life than in pictures.... whether that's an insult or compliment I do not know...

I have NEVER been able to take a decent selfie where I don't look either half asleep or overly crazy due to trying to counteract the first problem of trying not to look sleepy. It's a lose lose situation.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Next time wear tons of make up like Faryal Makhdoom. :cb:

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I’m the same as you. I take bad selfies of myself. And I freeze up when others take pics of me, so I don’t look relaxed. I have been told I look better in real life and I feel the same way. I would take it as a compliment. People don’t meet/interact with your photo…they interact with you in the flesh. If the real version is more attractive; feel flattered.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Are you smiling each time? Standing? Sitting? If not smiling try it chances are you will end up looking cute even if the makeup has melted off or whatnot

If standing, always stand by putting out your best angle inwards or outwards, shoulders back and face/chin tilted down a bit

if sitting, try to keep an upright position, holding the face high up and crack that pretty smile

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Same here, told and I know so as well, better in person than pics, selfies no no no :frowning: And if I’m standing, I just don’t know what to do with my hands

My pictures turn out good when I’m not aware they are being taken/spontaneous

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

buy your teacher a nice dslr.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I wouldn’t go to such Zumba classes…why the heck do they have have to take selfies after the session is over? That would just annoy the heck out of me.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I don’t take amazing selfies either…one trick though is glasses.

Do you wear glasses?

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I think it’s a compliment..

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Side shot with head tilt.. Hard to look bad that way :@:

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I figured… I guess it’s not a bad thing after all to look better in person than in pictures lol. I do however need to perfect my selfie taking techniques

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

telling myself: “I’m not going to ask RG why she knows this so well”

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Perhaps because you have been in quiet of few selfies with me :hehe:
even Noor haha

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

I am in love with Zumba too much to give it up. It’s just her way of showing that we totally rocked out our dance session by sweating it out.

contacts all the way. Unless you mean sunglasses which is a no too.

I try to smile every time but it’s just such a spontaneous thing. We’re all standing in a group. You know that kind of photo right?

Can you show me an example of what you mean by the face tilt down and angle inwards or outwards

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

Is it worse than being told you look really photogenic and better in pics than in real life? :hehe:

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

True that, I would legit get angry/upset if someone said that to me so I guess looking better in real life is the one.

Re: Not everybody can take a good selfie photo with a cellphone

On a side note, I really hate some of the poses girls do in picture. Like the frontwards hugging or the hands in front of their face in a selfie or the standing in a line with their hand on their hips (doing that by yourself is fine) etc etc… I find these really cringey and everytime they pop up on my FB I always eyeroll at them. Am I the only one that feels like that?
