These fundo parents should pack up and head to Saudia or FATA if they think they can force kids to live differently than their friends.
If you live in America or Canada your kids will want to be like others. To what extent is the issue. If you want them to live "pure", then leave the land. Don't mess it up for fellow non-fundo Muslims by giving them a bad name.
It is certainly possible to raise shareef kids who are happy to wear the hijab and practice the "fundamentals" of Islam in Canada or the US without moving back, and without abusing or killing your children.
The problem with these people is that they turned a blind eye or were overly strict during the years when they should have been instilling a love of Islam in their children, then one day realize (usually through some sort of 'incident') that their children are up to no good.
As for "honor", Islam teaches personal responsibility. If my daughter sins, it is her sin, not mine. I understand that this is in direct opposition to most Asian cultures, but we have to move beyond these medieval ideas of "honor".
