nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

when i first got my nose pierced (it took three times for the hole to settle down) … i wore a nose ring for quite some time … cuz the pin would either come out, or was too this, too that … and that’s how my fiance first saw me … with a nose ring …
but after a while i switched to a proper tiny stud gold one (they say gold helps the wound to heal quicker) … and this i really like and want to keep …
but now … my fiance wants me to go back to the ring, becuz he thinks a pin is too traditional, and a ring add edginess :s … what to do? rings are quite a nuisance as well, they used to get stuck in the towel etc, and damn that was nasty …
what do you guys think of a nose ring vs a nose pin? which do you prefer?
pictures will be nice too

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

i think a pin is decent for everyday wear and a ring for once in a while when something specials happenin. I wear a nathni on occasions and have a gold nose pin with a diamond for every other day of the year

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

i think comfort should be your priority, your fiance should understand that too.
i mean you can wear both right? just wear the stud for normal everyday wear and the ring now and again. everything gets old after a while, if you change it around it will keep its edge :)

I agree with you

what is nathni?

and the scene is ... one day my noise pin got out ... and i freaked out ... and went to get it done again because i couldnt put the pin back in ... and the next day i had a flight ... so from the day before the flight till a day after the flight i had the stud in my nose that they use with the gun ... i was looking horrible with a swollen nose ... and i was carrying my nose pin with the screw on back with me ... so after a bit of pin, i took the stud out and instantly put the screw pin in ... becuz it was hurting ... i dont know how i screwed it in ... and now it feels i cant take it off ... it's stuck :( ...
it's been a year to this incident ...

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

I prefer nose pin, instead of ring..... i've got a really teeny tiny one...

Can you rotate the pin? That is, it doesn't have your skin stuck to it, right? I remember using a lot of polyfax when I got mine pierced.

I can feel your pain, I got my nose pierced twice with the silver nose ring (ugh! PAINFUL) and in the end, just took it off (since my husband didn't like me wearing one, while my MIL wanted me to and frankly I didn't care either way). Anyways, I left it and the hole closed long ago. Now I feel like wearing a diamond nose pin :p I'm seriously thinking of getting it pierced again when i go to Pakistan this year.

Anyways, personally I like the teeny tiny diamond wali nose pins, they look really smart. Nose rings look kind of paindoo sometimes, if you know what I mean (no offense to anyone) they look good only with the right clothes and make-up. So yeah sure, wear one... but not all the time. And your fiance is not the one wearing it, you are... so do whats convenient for you :).

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

I deffo prefer a nose pin to a nose ring. They're cuter and look smarter/neater. Plus, I would look well weird in my office attire with a ring through my nostrils. I've got a silver stud with a white stone in it. I had a gold one that looked way better, but it fell out.

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

^ fell out? :o

currently i am wearing a tiny gold one with a white stud ... and i personally really like it ... and i agree that the nose ring can look OTT on an everyday look ... my fiance is too angraiz i guess and he should stop watching miami ink and piercing shows ... hahahahhaha ....
i can move my pin easily now ... it doesnt get stuck to my skin anymore ... but it used to till some time back .. but i once tried to unscrew it ... but i couldnt ...
one more thing ... the length of my pin i think is too long ... although i got a standard one ... cuz i have to keep pressing it down to avoid showing the "stem" .... is that normal ?

^LOL @ Miami Ink and piercing shows… MEN  I wonder what farmaish will be next? A tattoo?!? My husband keeps asking me to get a tattoo, Imagine that… and he says it just to bug me :grumpy:

Yeah, I believe those stem ones are the standard ones. But you can get one custom made (from Pakistan) if you don’t like the stem. They aren’t too expensive.

:konfused: this is what mine looks like … with the floral thing on the inside of the nose .. so the stem is what is between the stud and the flower …
what kind of pin is without a stem then? can you show a picture maybe? :heykitty:

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

^ mine is the same type of screw, and it's such a pain to put on but it's comfortable and it's doesn't come out as easily. The regular screw was really uncomfy for me and L-shape screw kept coming out and eventually fell down the drain :(

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

^ oh yea ... the L shape is something i totally dont get ... how can you ever make it stay put? and then there is also the coil ... oh that hurts the MOST ....

i wear the exact same floral ended thingy as u and ve the same problem.i hate presin it down in place.dono hw to make it stay. wud love to knw too!!!!

Re: nose pin vs nose ring dilemma

Yep, i wore the coil after my marriage for 6 months.... forgot its name since its been so long since I took it out :p.
That gives you the cleanest look, no stem... and you can get the teeniest one possible :). I didn't find it painful at all, since I kept my nose-ring in till my nose healed. You just need to practice putting it in.
