how much exactly does it hurt? and for how long..?? my husband’s been on my case for a long tiem to get it done and now he’s all serious abt it. eitherways, so im considering going to one of those jewellry store at the mall, as in peoples or so. shud i dose on a couple of advils before i leave? what will it feel like..??

dose a couple of advil before you go. i HIGHLY recommend getting it done at a place that does it with needles instead of a gun...its is much much less painful and traumatic to your poor nose. with the need method, the person takes a super sharp needle and just pricks your nose with it, inserts the nose stud and voila, your done! with the gun its more loud, hard and forceful, therefore it causes much more pain...

as for healing, as long as u take care of it, inshAllah it will be fine. my place told me to dip my nose in a coffee mug filled with warm water with diluted salt in it for 10-15 min per day for the first month...to keep it clean and dry. also, make sure u dont mess with it or tug on it at least for 1-3 months for it to completely heal, otherwise it might bleed or you might develop a small pimple or blister around it,,,which looks ugly until it heals.

i had mine pierced when i was about 15 with a gun. it was quick and relatively painless to be honest. make sure they take a stud out of the packet (so u know its untouched and hasn't been lying around) and they clean ur nose with an antiseptic wipe before they pierce.

oh i have always wanted to get it done but my ami wont let me :( lol. plus i hve a very sensitive skin n i m also very scared how it wl heal n all. my sista got infection when she got hers done. the pain n the possibility of infection really scares the hell outta me.

I wanted to get my nose pierced since I was 15............but the fear of the pain deterred me. It took me a long time to get over shots......so, anything involving needs makes me uncomfortable.

But.....I REALLY wanted to get it done. It wasn't a phase..........couldn't get over it................and then about several years later.........got it done. It was done with a gun. It was quick and painless. Alhudmolillah it never got infected. It's like getting your ear pierced. You never see the needle in the gun (that's a plus for me). When it was over and done with.............I wanted to kick myself for being so chicken about it and not getting it sooner. Had I overcome the fear.......could have sported a cute nose pin in high school. But INSTEAD...................I let my fears overwhelm me......and instead got it done when I was getting my Masters, lol.

If somebody like me can get it done, so can you :)

I went to the mall and there was this guy at a jewelry store who did piercings. He told me that he was planning to open his own professional tattoo and piercing parlor in a few weeks. He said that he would pierce my nose with a gun. At first I was really wary about that because I had read so many articles saying that gun piercing is unprofessional and has a greater chance for infection. So.........I brought that up with him. Asked him, "Isn't it advised not to get your nose pierced with a gun?" He said, "I'll be honest. If I pierce your nose with a needle, it will hurt more because the needle is shoved. But with a gun, it'll hurt less and it'll be faster. It's up to you." So, I went with the gun.................it was over so quickly..........he told me to put neosporin on it. I never had problems with it :)

Nose piercing is the second common piercing after ears. It it was THAT PAINFUL......then so many people around the world wouldn't get it done. The gun worked for me, but if you're wary about infections......then opt for the needle. But don't let it scare you. Get it done.

doesnt hurt at all, ive had mine done twice, its obvious its gonna hurt for about a week then ull get used to it, didnt hurt me

I remember when I had to get it done I was so scared my brother had to wrap his arms around me and hold me still, and it was done with in seconds don't really remember any pain

how do they make sure the backing dosen't fall out...cause what if you blew your nose..and then blew out the backing of the stud...or maybe you took a really deep breathe and inhaled it... :S

My mum took a rose thorn from our garden, dipped it in hot butter and pierced my nose. It was so painful and I did not even shout or anything but my tears kept on flowing.

they usually pierce it with a stud called 'nose ball' and its a little thick but it has to be to help it heel and it has a lil ball at the end so it doesnt fall out.
now i hav a small stud and a small bar and you jus bend it so it doesnt fall out.. and they dont oh and i can blow my nose fine without any problems

wow. this is really news for me that it does NOT hurt that much. I am just so chicken about it. Possibly by the end of this week I will have it done. Yeah and most of what I have been reading up online did say that I should stick with the needle as opposed to the gun, but here you guys are telling me otherwise. So, I guess gun it is.. hopefully it doesn't hurt that much. Plus I recently had a baby, and everyone tells me the pain can't be as much as that..

haha and RV you're funny with the.. if it hurt that much, not so many people around in the world would be getting it done!

LOL this is the way my grandmother pierced my mum's nose when she was younger. Traditional way. Happens in family. Nope it did not, this is why you dip it in hot butter. It wards off infections etc.

I had mine done with a gun, i cannot remember that being painfull (it was many years ago), but what i do remember is that i had a swelling inside my nose (where the stud was sitting), for like years :bummer:, which obviously did not help when i converted to nose studs that required a back pin, so i used to have it sitting in my nose without the backing, and then wake up in the morining looking for the pin in my bed, and then having to put that back into my nose was a pain for so long .

Oh yes i got it done with a gun coz its like 5 secs and its over. I wudnt do it with a needle im a chicken. However i have a 'koka' and that bar is thick and the bar is quite short and it doesnt fit in unless i push it in hard and i can never fit the back bit in, its a shame coz i really wanted to wear a koka..

I got my done at Bramlea City Centre. They used an actual needle instead of a gun. Honestly, it didnt hurt as much as I thought it would. Just a small POP! My bhabhi that went with me looked more scared that me. ha ha. She said it looked painful, but it seriously wasnt.

Well I dont have a nose pin anymore, since it got infected (kept on getting those channa things - my friend told me it was becasue I ate daal/channa...dont know if i believe her or not..lol)...so i took it out.

Should I tell her....
