i don't think you're supposed to take out your piercing until 6 months have passed are you? i kept it in for a good 8 months before changing it and even then i felt sometimes like it almost closed up.

I thought that I would wear a nath on my wedding day plus I really liked the idea of having nose stud permanently. I thought getting my nose pierced six months before the wedding would be sufficient time for it to heal. I got my nose pierced like 6 weeks ago and after the 3rd week a red bump developed. I have tried sea salt hot compresses, tea tree oil and the solution to the piercer gave me as well as drying wipes. I have also put in a pure gold ring a few days ago in case I was allergic to the original metal. Although the bump has gone down slightly it is still there and now I am beginning to get really worried about. What if on my wedding day I still have the remnants of this bump?!! The piercer has said that there is no pointing taking the stud out as the bump will remain and I may as well continue to treat it with hot salty water.
Has anyone else been in the situation? What should I try? I know different things work for different people but I would greatly appreciate a prompt response.

Dear, i got my nose pierced a few months ago as well.. and i too am going to be married in the next 6 months, talking about the developed bump you're worried for .. i got into the same situation. my maami's mother told me to take 1 tsp of termeric powder, 1 tsp of musterd oil - heat it and then put the termeric powder in it.. heat once again and then let it cool a bit so that you skin don't burn when you apply it on your nose piercing.. apply this mixture 2 times a day, and after 3 days (maximum) your piercing will look neat and nice. try this and share your experience it's amazing , trust me!

I took it out after 1 week, nothing happened. i'm allergic to all metals except gold and pure silver :( its good that she has put a gold nosepin/ring.

is the bump inside the nose or on top.. i got my nose piercing infected on the night of my mehndi.. and a taitwa (red bump) appeared inside my nose.. so i literally had to JAB my nath thru it for the wedding ceremony.. but after that I let the piercing close up.. and got it re-done 8 mnths later from pak. and its perfectly fine now :).. however my MIL warmed up olive oil and told me to apply it with a cotton bud.. it worked and the bump went down.. thank god it wasnt on top of my nose otherwise i wud have had an awful wedding! :(

My cartilage piercing had gotten infected and formed a red bump with pus coming out of it last year. I used the tip my grandma used on my mum's infected nose piercing more than 25 years ago. Heat some olive oil in a small pan and add a garlic clove to it. Let the garlic clove burn for a while and after just drain the clove out and store the oil in a jar. Use the oil on the piercing/bump a few times a day until it heals. It got rid of my bump within a few days so it may help yours too.

Thanks a lot for your replies. I come bearing good news!! My bump is A LOT better. This is what I did.
Inititially I did hot salty compresses - i found this worked to some extent but not a huge amount.
I also used antiseptic wipes - this actually worked quite well although slow progress. It basically dries it out.
Also used Tea Tree Oil - this worked in the first few days but then made it go all red and so basically I gave up.
But last 3 days I used Betnovate Cream before going to bed and this has helped it A LOT too.
Somone gave me sudocream today but I have not used it yet so dont know the full effects.
I intend to try out the olive oil idea too, so that small bump that is left can be fully healed too.
Keep the ideas posted as no doubt this thread would helps other too.

Tha Same Thing Happened Me To and At First I Kept Moisturizing It n It Didnt Get Better, Like I Would Put Neosporin n It Didnt Get Better. So Den My Mom Said Not To Put Anything n Slowly It Got Better...But Now Its Closed :( I Prolly Get it Done Again inshALLAH

Just a quick update...from my first thread...
MashAllah my nose has healed perfectly. I have been wearing my nose stud for the last 2 or 3 weeks...there is a tiny scar but you cant see it when my stud is in. Personally I found betnovate helped it the most but think what works for everyone is different....
My only advice is to anyone wanting to get thier nose pierced before thier wedding is to allow lots of time for any complications as you would be surprised how common problems are with nose piercing. Luckily I got my mine pierced 6 months before and it has had time to heal..but not everyone would be that situation...!!!
