interesting take. i've never seen a democrat making that point in media tho, whereas repubs suggest all the time that obl wants dems to win.
it is curious though that hes been absent from the political scene for a while tho. maybe reports of him dying from kidney failure or whatever were true and were quashed for political reasons. he hasnt been heard from since eh?

Let's not make lame excuses.. the reason Democrats will lose is cuz they've got no balls..
they want the anti war vote without coming out as anti-war..
they want the anti Bush vote without showing the spine to take him on if elected..
I'd rather vote Republican.. I know what i'm getting than vote these weasles into office..

from what i can guage of american public opinion sitting an ocean away i think if the dems dont win this time they will completely lose credibility with everyone for not being able to put away an absolute softball. justifiably for their complete spinelessness.
theres reports on the margin drawing closer between the parties, and it seems likely to me that the gains will not be what they were assumed assured a few weeks ago.

Lose? The question is longer if the Dems will take the House but by how much and the Senate is a toss up. Some states that have been Repub for over 15 year, like Ohio, are going to be doing a 180 and turn Democrat.
As far as not having a spine to take on Bush you couldn't be father from the truth. After elections Bush becomes a lame duck President, if the Dems are able to control the Senate serious investigations into his administration will follow shortly afterwards. Dems might not be able to take full control until 2008 but the damage can be limited after Tuesday.

unfortunately no one can criticise army actions, I thought it was only in Pakistan, but it can be seen here as well.... as soon as you say something 'anti' military you are regarded traitor, 'anti-US' and what not, with this kind of mindset its a tough job (getting close to impossible) for anyone to win as 'anti-war'.

No it is the truth.. Democrats can't stop distancing themself from those within who want full accountability of whoever dragged us into the Iraq war.. why.. cuz they're going to protect their Israeli brethern agents no matter what.
Look at how the Democratic party is distancing itself from Murtha or McGovern. With Rahm and Chucky Schumer controlling the money, Strong Democratic anti-war candidates aren't seeing even a fraction of the money and exposure provided to no-name 'mildly' anti-war or 'offer-nothing' Democrats when it comes to the Iraq war.
and Captain1.. the popular opinion per ALL the polls conducted to date is that an overwhelming majority of Americans is fed up with the war and want the military back home. What's interesting is that BOTH parties are listening to someone other than the people on this matter. If they tell you it's voter pressure.. it's bull biscuits.
If Democrats listened to their people.. we'd be out of the war the next day they control the house.. If Republicans listened to their base, we'd have the border sealed shut and all illegals expelled within a year.

The pull out method doesn't really work once you made the mess, it's a little more complicated than that.
What also doesn't work is to keep with the same failed course. With Dems having some power there will be a voice demanding answers on what the plan is and if there isn't a plan then the issue can be opened up and looked at, thus far the Repubs have been able to 'stay the course' without any explanation or review of where that 'course' has led us. It's well past due to remove the cover Congress Republicans have provided the Bush admin.
