Northern Paki-Land

Re: Northern Paki-Land

Thanks guys, Thandiani would be nice to check out. Well my hubby booked 2 nights in Bhurban, and then we will drive further north ( i think that's the direction) and if we find a place we really like, we can spend more time there....i think its easy to book a hotel there....like walk-in right? I remember many years back, before I was married, i went to swat with family friends, it was awesome...and i think one place we visited was called lake safal malook (bad spelling).
Hope it turns out well.

Naran Kagan Saif ul Mulook i heard are reallyyyyyy gorgeous places. theyre probably 4-6 hrs from Pindi. =) enjoy ur trip!!

Hey Afro, don't expect anything in Bhurban apart from PC but it's the best place in Northen areas if you just wanna relax. Since you are going that way, you might as well check out patriata. Yes you can walk in and find accomodation there, lots of places there. If you really want to see smazing views then you MUST go to Naran/Kaghan/Saiful Malook.
Bhurban/Thandiani etc are good but not even half as good as Naran/Kaghan but if you prefer just to relax then you have planned your trip well.

Hey regarding Naran/Kaghan, we don't mind travelling any place far, but the only problem is we don't know what the situation is there right now, we have heard Sawat and places nearby there are pretty unstable. Is naran/kaghan a safe place to visit right now? Esp as we'd be considered foreigners, even though we are pakistani?

Re: Northern Paki-Land

all of the following areas are safe and reachable

Galiyaat Marree, Nathiya Gali, Dunga Gali, Ayubiya, Thandiyani
Kaghan Naran, Shugaran, Lalazar, Saif-al-malook, Sural Gali, Kachgali Pass, Dudipat sar, Lalu sar, Aansoo Lake and lots of them
Karakoram Range All sides of Nanga parbat (fairy meadows, rupal, diamir), gilgit, skardu, hunza, rakaposhi and surroundings, deosai (sadpara, sheosar, laila peek and many more), Kareemabad
Baltoro and surroundings (though its part of karakoram, but it has its own identity): Concordia, K2 Base, Ghondogoro La, Hispar La, Biafo, Nagar, Snow Lake
Khunjarab Pass

thats all i can think of, outside the western part of North of Pakistan.

Re: Northern Paki-Land

i would nt advise a swat trip although there is a 99% chance of safety. there are incidences and you just never know who will be affected. you coul dbe troubled anwyhere in the world but walkign into a place which is just starting to recover maybe a problem.

gilgit and hunza are no problems. why dont you go to chitral which seems at ease? other places you could visit are thandiani and the galiyat, shogran and the kaghan valley, the neelum and upper kashmir valleys.
