What should the US reaction be now? Warning, Pressure? Is that it?

Its a “provocative act” said Rice. This is the real WMD folks. No phony-baloney.

U.S. officials have said the missile, believed to be a Taepodong-2, has a firing range of 9,300 miles and could reach as far as the U.S. West Coast. Most analysts, however, say North Korea is still a long way from perfecting technology that would make the missile accurate and capable of carrying a nuclear payload.

Re: North Korea’s Missile Test

I think we should attack North Korea if Kim Jong Il tries to lauch a missle at us. Perhaps Mr. Bush should remind Mr. Kim Jong Il that we have about 10,000 cruise and other missiles that can reach his country before he can count to ten. Oh and don’t forget our fighers. Oh and by the way we have the most powerful military in the world. Oh and we are standing right on your border Mr. North Korea.

The missile is probably shorter than Kim Jong Il.:snooty:

Re: North Korea’s Missile Test

I think even if N Korea “launches” such missile, it will end up on North Pole :mocking:

Towards topic: Does the missile really have capability to reach 9300 miles as it says to be? Why is it “dangerous” for US? Has Korea expressed any desire to hit US as soon as it becomes capable of?

Re: North Korea's Missile Test

This is very serious. Given all the leisurely possible for past three years, Noth Korea still wants to go this way. Are they jealous of all attention given to Iran? Do they want to know how far U.S have come in the misslle defense...? Whatever the reason, North Korea will be making more enemies than friends by going down this road. Moreover, United Nations can not apply sanctions or threathen N. Korea with it. This country is so isolated that any kind of diplomatic and economic threats won't work.

Noth Koreans are playing like they have nothing to loose, which puts that region in even more difficult position. They haven't shown any reasonable topic of negotiation, rather are determined to carry on with their missile and defense capabilities.

Re: North Korea's Missile Test

not really, abdali, is saying that North Korea is brave enough to take on the big bad America........

so for such a brave country, it must also be defending its life style and if that were the case, millions of people will be clamoring to immigrate to North Korea....

And yet, millions of people are clamoring to immigrate to USA, why is that?

For a country that is so evil, why do so many people continue to immigrate there?

Re: North Korea's Missile Test

Are you assuming that people are migrating to US for "lifestyle" or just because it happens to be "brave, super power"? I sincerely hope that is not the case.

Re: North Korea's Missile Test

I think he means that they are flocking to U.S so they can join the military of the world's sole superpower and feel better about themselves.
