Normal or not?

Is it normal to have abdominal pains while you are pregnant? Also pains when a person goes down to reach something or while making sajdah during prayers?

Re: Normal or not?

Light cramps are ok, you might experience those in the first few weeks (it's your uterus stretching). Also when you make a sudden/quick move, pain that you feel in the lower abdomen is not something to worry about.

None of the above should be persistent though, or if you feel it's getting worst talk to your doctor.

Re: Normal or not?

yep, those pains are called Round Ligament Pains.

Re: Normal or not?

Light pain is normal, and so to are occasional cramps, or they were in my case.

If you feel extra discomfort while bending over/ doing sajdah, then perhaps you should talk to your Dr and see if its something you should avoid doing. Like I've been praying by sitting on a chiar for quite some time as doing sajdah waan't recommended for me.

Re: Normal or not?

I still feel those aches and pains (my 5th month is almost up) and they get worse when I walk for 20-30 minutes at a stretch or when I walk too fast :(
I also feel shooting pain on my sides now and then without any strenuous activity .... my OB/GYN said its normal to feel that if it comes and goes, nothing to be worried about unless it happens persistently and lasts for a long time. I have an appointment in 2 weeks, will ask again as the pain I get with walking is worrying me now.

Well, it comes and goes. Sometimes I get it for few days and sometimes I don't even feel it.

Thank you, I will consult my doctor!:)

I, actually, start getting a lower back pain when I walk. But it's not just due to walking, I get lower back pain quite often and sometimes it becomes very difficult to do things, even lay down and move/get up.

Yes do ask your doctor and I hope Insh'Allah everything will be fine.

As for reading namaz, you should consider reading namaz sitting down if your stomach is hurting. Thats what I did. I felt so much more comfortable and was not concentrating so much on my positions and more in the namaz
