My nine year old sister brought a book about Islam from her school library, and have been reading it, yesterday, i just happened to pick it up, and i’m really big on who wrote it…any book i read i have to learn about the author first, cause when i’m reading i’m learning, and i don’t want to learn incorrect information, anyways so the first thing i noticed was it was written by a nonmuslim, so i began reading it, and he has his facts straight, but…one thing he does, is that he doesn’t say anything negative about muslims or Islam, but he trys to confuse the reader…ok here is an example, instead of saying Muhammad is the messenger of Allah, he says that “muslims say that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah”…or instead of saying he got messages from Allah, he says, " Muhammad thought he got messages from God"…you see, i think he is kind of saying that Mohammd might not be right, that he only “thought”. Ok i’ve only read the first chapter, so i don’t know if it’s ok for my sister to read, but at her age, and being in a nonmuslim country, i was confused(i’m ashamd of that period of my life) but i was always thinking like, ok so the Christians think they are right, and Jews think they are, then how do we know that we are right, can’t we be wrong…or like things in Islam i didn’t understand then, i was always like it’s wrong, you know, like i always have 100% faith that there is no god but Alah and Muhammad is his messenger, but like other things, i didn’t believe…and as i began to read and understand the Quran more, and read other books i understood…ok the point is that i know to read it and know what is right and what is wrong, but my younger sister wouldn’t, should i let her read the book??? And does it matter if the author is not muslim??? Should we only read books written by muslims??
