NONE of us

Re: NONE of us

**bro, going to graves [not traveling vast distances, except the rauza e Huzoor (s.a.w.s.)] is encouraged in islam for the right reasons and that reason is only and only to remember ur own death, sit down there for a few minutes and ponder where u stand, and to send du'aa to the deceased in a mannerprescribed in islam.

these days, people travel vast distances to go to a particular grave and then indulge in shirk [putting chaadar, prostration, keeping head low, walking backwards, lsitening to qawwaalis and worse yet ask the dead man in the grave to fullfill his/her desires [right or wrong] when Allah says come to Me, ask Me, I am closer to you than ur jagular vein]. not only shirk is committed but a lot of crimes take place. uts NOT a place for any noble person to be. i've seen first hand what takes place there. one of my childhood friend is sajjaada nasheen on one of the graves in my area back in india. there are even rapes being committed in and around those dargaahs, sajjaadah nasheens are engaged in haraam kaarii. this happens but goes unreported.

My Dad gave me a million dollar advice and that is:

if u see Hindus side by side in any so called religious events, know for sure that its shirk.

go to Ajmer or any qabr of auliyaa e karaam, u'll see Hindus there...2/3 will be Hindus in Ajmer. i have seen with my own eyes Hindus celebrating MoHarram, doing maatam. i've seen gumraah muslims copying Hindu Festival Dushehra during eid e milaad un Nabi week by having a stage with four pillars made of decorated maTkas with flowers on them depicting 4 caliphs and aal that.

It happens because we lack ilm e deen and thats why Allah has ordained us to seek knowledge...knowledge of deen. without it a person is like sitting duck waiting to be taken advantage by religious manipulators...be it qabr parasti or terrorism.

May Allah show us the right path, the path of those who were bestowed upon and not of those who went astray. aameen**

Re: NONE of us

if you can't back up your opinions with a reference from the qur'an or authentic hadith, please don't state that opinion. You don't need reference books around you when, alhamdulillah, you have the internet at the tips of your hands. You have a brain and I'm hoping at least enough knowledge to know which sources online are authentic and which ones are not.

As Muslims, we cannot say anything without providing some references. Please understand this point.

Re: NONE of us

There is a hadith that a sahabi (ra) asked the holy prophet(pbuh) as how should he make decisions? the holy prophet(pbuh) listed down the source of guidance in hierarchical order
1. Quran
2. Sunnah
3. Ijma (i guess)
4. ijtihad
5. qiyas
(this is the gist of that hadees not the exact wording)

i.e., one must look into quran for guidance if couldn't find the required then he should look into sunnah and so on. but what I have seen is that people often very quickly skip the first two and go to ijma or fiqa very quickly.
Actually Quran has verses with different level of difficulty to understand. there are verses that are straightforward, easy to understand but there are verses that are difficult and need some extra knowledge to understand. One may consult scholars but should not hesitate to question and using their own brain cells. It will surely help.
For me, to understand quran, on top of the things that KKF listed e.g., understanding arabic language, years of work etc, two additional things are also needed that are rare nowadays. they are 1) goodness of heart and character 2) intelligence and common sense.
I have seen many apparently great maulanas, ullemas, Allamas misquoting quran. This could be due to their lack of knowledge or most likely they deliberately do this to fit quran to their preconceived ideas or may be the ideas that general masses are following and they are finding it difficult to call a spade a spade for the fear of isolation.
So keep your eyes and ears wide open and brain cells working.

Re: NONE of us

The funny part is that almost all of us try to argue and prove our religion/sect rite while that is religion/sect our parents picked for us. I bet most of us would be defending a different religion/sect if we were born in a family that has different believes.
