Non stick pans and their disposal

So , I hear that once the non stick layer in a pan gets chipped , it becomes a health hazard .. what do you guys do with the pans then? bin them?

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

No. We put them on our heads and walk around like aliens. :omg: I kill myself !

Of course we bin them. As long as the hazard is out of the house, who cares about the environment. :@:

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

TS :emmy:

Right, so there is simply no other use for them :hinna:

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

you could convert them into a drum set or paint over them and turn them into works of art or fill em with dirt and have an avant garde herb garden in your kitchen patio etc.

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Yes. Ain't it sad throwing away an otherwise perfectly good, strong piece of hardware ?

But before you dump it, wait for other people's responses.

You could save it to hit your husband or intruders over the head. :D

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Ok , you two , thanks for the brilliant ideas .. I think i will continue to wait for other responses :barbie:

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

i hope you ain’t waiting for ma expert advice…are you? :cb:

Non stick pans and their disposal

Is chipping and scratches same thing? 2 of my non-stick degchis have 2-3 scratches on them ... :O

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

  1. You just pretend nothing happened, ignore the articles you've read, and continue being a ~couldn't care less polyester wearing, on the phone yapping while loud drama is on, kids ringing the doorbell cuz u can't hear it and they're holding their pee pee, husband's tidd exploding, desi khatoon~ :@:

  2. Or, you could dispose them and be sure to invest is good quality cooking utensils and knives so you enjoy your cooking experience and never open a thread like this again :D!

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Very funny. No really, point 1 was very funny. :hehe:

Niksik, I think I read somewhere that you were from India. Are you from Punjab ?

On this topic we buy non stick coz it is easy to cook in, any other frying pans that you used which turned out good and easy to clean up.

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

My fave - Circulon's hard anodized frying pan, so easy to to cook in and clean.

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Oh, and about the topic, I actually gave all of pans that had scratches and stuff to the salvation army. If they think they are in condition to be used, they’ll put em on the shelves, if not then they can take care of the trash part I guess :bummer:

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Yes I am from India, and was born in Punjab.

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

Pinterest is always good for these matters that call for inspirations. =)

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

niksik since I've seen you're an expert in cooking/kitchen. Please recommend us some good kitchen utensils. (Esp degchis used for cooking Salan)

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

So you support Team India and your husband Team Pakistan during Pak-India cricket matches ?

Re: Non stick pans and their disposal

I am trying to see how to type that pound sterling sign. How do you do it ?

Anyway, 45 pounds ? For that price it should be gold-plated and last several years. :emmy:
