Quran 4:116
Lo! Allah pardoneth not that partners should be ascribed unto Him. He pardoneth all save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah hath wandered far astray.

shirk is not to be forgiven…
and now only Allah knows whether in their hearts, they committed shirk or not…
if they believed someone to be the son of Allah or other such thoughts that fall under “shirk” then they shall not be forgiven…

so osama goes to heaven while mother teresa goes to hell?
