Any non-drugstore mascara you think is worth investing in? (One that really gives that oomph a drugstore brand cannot).
I like my eyelashes to be lengthened, separated, and thick only at the roots. Not clumpy.

The wand is brilliant, adds length in all the right places without going all clumpy in the middle! It's probably also one of the blackest mascaras I've ever used!

It doesn't clump up your lashes. Makes them look thicker & on top of that if I apply it right then I don't even need an eye liner.

See, im the kind to see mascara as something that can be done with a drug store brand, so i dont know what it is that really sets the professional ones apart? To me its all about the application. I can apply one mascara and many ways, depends on my application technique. Please convince me?

I have used both drug stores & high end mascaras. One thing I know for sure is they last way longer than the drug store ones. I have had an Estee Lauder mascara for more than 2 years now. Its light so I use it for every day use. You can imagine the number of times that thing has opened & closed yet still it hasn't dried up.

That sounds good. I want to get a nice high end mascara, but i want to know what it is that im paying for or why it is that im going out of my way for a certain product. Longer lasting is def is plus. One thing I can say I have noticed of every drugstore mascara is that it begins to flake off and i see small black flakes on my cheeks. Im excited to hear more personal takes on it! I think im getting convinced slowly but surely :)

I'd go with DiorShow since it gives that enhanced false eyelash look, but it takes some practice in order to apply it without clumping. Lancome, YSL, and even Bare Escentuals have decent mascaras. For a good mascara at a drugstore price, I'd recommend Sephora's own line. If you live near a Sephora, try on DiorShow and the other brands at their mascara spotlight case.
