But i am puzzled how did it happen. With Musharraf's camp wielding all the power over election comission, it was thought that their papers will be rejected.

I guess the consequences of rejecting their nomination papers would have been bad. I mean until an year ago the dictator probably thought he would easily and quietly get rid of the CJ with absolutely no trouble at all. Now he has to think twice before doing such things.

May be Musharraf now KNOWS the differences between PML-N/PPP, before elections both were hand-in-hand, so even if NS comes into parliament it will cause more rift then union... strengthening the ...... you know who.
