Whether or not he had any achievements aside, the fact that he is Commander-in-Chief of armed forces current actively engaged in combat should have disqualified him from being considered.

I think people need to chill. Has he done a lot? No. Does that matter? No, but he is willing to talk to people before he bombs them, unlike Bush. For me, thats good enough. In any case, congrats to the president. :)

You are right that people should chill and not be too quick to make grand statements in either support or against this nomination, especially if they are leaders of nations or in influential positions themselves.
For me this announcement really has discredited the entire Nobel Peace Prize name and image.

With all the hard work behind, noble prizes (specially peace prize) have almost achieved the heights of our own “Nigar Filmi Awards” aka lollywood awards. First it was Allgore and now Obama. I demand one for Reema and Meera each. After all they are better “piece” than Obama’s Peace

The idiots in Europe just gave the right wingers one more reason to bash Obama. Even if he has done or will do good in the future the republicans will likely use this to say that obama gets praise just for talking and doing nothing.
