This would be a blunder by Pti, the cycle will complete if they resign from kpk assemblies too. The government will happily conduct by elections in the vacant constituencies, and next elections would be held under the ECP and caretakers selected by PPP and PMLN. It's not in the interest of these two parties to carry out any meaningful reform in the electoral system. Instead of going heads on at the moment, if IK backs down a bit now he can seize the initiative later. People are not happy with PMLNs performance, he shouldn't let them hide under the excuse that he did not let them perform (similar to the one we have been hearing previously regarding NWA).

Govt should let them protest w/o any problems as long they are not breaking the law. If they resign fine. The EC should hold fresh elections on vacant seats in 60 days as required & NS should help put together collation and oust PTI govt in KPK (pick CM from PTI's forward block just to rub it in IKs face).

So what shall be post Dharna Scenario?

1) They'll sit in D-Chowk till the time money runs out? and then they may split up issuing another warning for another Dharna in two/three months time...

2) Govt says, ok we shall be looking into your demands and for that form a committee with representation from all the stake holders ( to which IK'll be saying that committee to hay, meri party key representation bhi hay, per mujhay yeh sab kuch abhi kay abhi chahiyee).. so the Dharna continues till money runs out.

3) TuQ may join in, and possibility that there is going to be collision between the members of two parties... it can turn ugly and IK+ TuQ would be blamed for the loss... where IK would be blaming it on the govt that they have got their workers in the Dharna and those workers have done all the bad works.... and PTI karkun are Farishtays from heaven and don't know anything about bad things.. as usual, IK is not going to provide any proves... and blind followers of IK would be believe him again...

whatever, the out-come would be, the resignations with this show would be the final nail in the coffin of PTI... had this Dharna be given after two years from now and had the agenda be the law and order situation along with ever increasing inflation and power-shortage crisis, IK would have swept it and would have forced a mid-term elections then.. and would have taken a 2/3rd majority... and sanity is not IK is known for... he is rather known for his blunders....

It is also being said that so far IK have not reached at point of no-return, Shahbaz Sharif and Ch. Nisar Ali Khan are ready to provide him a respectable exit, where he can save his face and can come back in 2 years time but Shah Mehmood, Ms Mazari, Asad Umer are too impatient and i think they probably want to Outset IK than this govt... because all in all, it would be IK who would become Asghar Khan and likes of NS would either form a new party and/or would make a faction in it and would take it from there...

To me he is working to bring yet another Marshal Law. In past this job was usually done by JI and their cronies to bring down elected governments. Now it is Imran Khan who is now working as proxy for JI. Parties like PAT, badnaame Zamana Sheeda Talli, good for nothing Chaudhries from Gujrat and MQM joined him and few people killed, Sharif might take over as this seems to be orchestrated by ISI. Reason :Musharraf:

You think that if PTI would resign then it would let government conduct election on vacant seats and rule peacefully? ... I do not think that PTI protest (dharna) and especially if it is followed by resignation, is to let the water settle down and situation to get calm dawn? It is obvious that the purpose would be agitation and more turmoil.

Even if Imran go quite (what is very unlikely), I do not think TUQ would go quite after their workers getting brutally murdered by PMLN and their dogs in police uniform. The turmoil that TUQ can create alone could be enough for army to take over.

I can clearly see agitation and turmoil in the country that could only calm down if:

A: Present government goes, culprits of 17th June killing get punished (to the satisfaction of victims), election reforms get implemented, new election is held within next few months, and to make the election free and fare army is called in to conduct the election.

B: Government do not back down, keep thinking that they can suppress the situation and rule ... but in this situation, I am certain that army would take over, martial law would get imposed (not peaceful martial laws but brutal one), Judiciary would be made meaningless, and then hanging of corrupts, especially corrupt politicians and partial judges would follow ... no Dubai, Jeddah or London.

Since army has seen how PMLN and Judiciary has treated Musharraf, this army takeover would have no sympathy. Future army rulers would never trust any demons wearing politician's dress or judiciary uniform again or play friendly game with these demons ... letting them get away to come back again. Rather, it is possible that army would not even care for anyone in judiciary or politics, and might hang many in revenge as well as to clean the country from corrupt thugs.

It is also possible that army rule in Pakistan would never end (just like most middle-east countries), where one army general would be followed by another, and we might even see new constitution of Pakistan.

Though all what I wrote is my feelings, analysis of situation, and assumptions, but believe me, what I wrote has good chance of happening.

If he does resign and want new elections, then he would be breaking his word for NOT derailing the govt and accepting the general verdict. I would be in favor of keeping up the media, parliamentary and then some street pressure on the gunjas.

Coming to think of it, I now give props to Javed Miandad for being mature enough to work as 'vice-captain' under imran after 1987 leading to 1992 when imran was the leader of the group that revolted against the captain. I really wonder if someone is misadvising him in his core committees, as many are turncoats like that musharraf supporter (can't remember his name) who left APML and went to PPP after he saw musharraf was a no-go.

If he does this AND this is his own decision with years of maturity not cooling down the anger, then all I have to say is:

Since 2010, I am saying the same thing what you have realized now. He is not a politician. He just want to keep his name alive in media so that bhatta/chandah/charity/zakat keep coming to his cancer hospital.
