Little bit off topic. How Amir Mauwiyaah became Hazrat and RA when he and his son Yazid were involved in killing Hazrat Imam Hussain and his whole family?

I don’t know which book you read, but the book(s) I read used those terms for Hazrat Muawiyah, not sure about Yazid, I can’t recall how Hazrat Muawiya RA was involved in killing of Hazrat Hussain RA. From the definitions of companion we used these terms for Hazrat Muawiyah RA, you may disagree if you wish.
