**No sight of the Nazar star, as Pak actress Meera disappears

MUMBAI: Pakistani actress Meera who debuted in Mahesh Bhatt’s controversial film ‘Nazar’ last year has ‘disappeared’ and those associated with her are unable to trace the self-proclaimed ‘‘ambassador of peace’’ for the last four weeks.
Meera’s spokesperson and publicist Dale Bhagwagar, who is planning to approach police in the matter, said, ‘‘Meera left for Dubai on December 10 to attend the Dubai International Film Festival which took place on December 17. Since then, she’s been incommunicado’’.
Even her secretary D K Shroff as well as mentor Mahesh Bhatt are not aware of her whereabouts, he said.
Sources in Dubai said that she had attended the Dubai festival but became untraceable after that, he said adding that the actress was scheduled to take part in the ‘mahurat’ of a film at the Lonavala hill station on January 2 but did not turn up.
Dale is now planning to file a missing person’s complaint at the Juhu police station.
He said Meera travels in London, Dubai, Pakistan and India. Her international roaming numbers are off since she left for the Dubai international film festival on December 10. Meera has been globetrotting during the last two months. She attended the IFFI in Goa first, then the SAARC summit in New Delhi, and the Kara Film Festival in Pakistan thereafter.
She was back in India beginning of December, he said.
Dale said Meera’s Pakistani contact numbers are not available to anyone in India and added that it was unlikely that she was in Pakistan because of her reported tensions with family members.
Apart from ‘Nazar’, Meera was seen with Lucky Ali in a film called ‘Kasak’. Both films were flops.
Trade sources wonder whether ‘‘going missing’’ was yet another publicity gimmick by the actress who had hogged the headlines alleging that she had received threats from fundamentalists back home for some ‘‘kissing scenes’’ in her debut film in India
