The theory goes that the hairs’ natural oils are meant to stay in your hair and stripping them away with shampoo (to replace with chemical conditioner) only aggravates the amount of oil produced so our scalps produces more than is necessary to fight back the shampoo and we’re left with no choice but to stick to shampooing to wash away the excess oils.
The theory claims that if we stop putting harsh chemicals on our scalps for 6 weeks the hairs’ natural balance of oils is restored, your scalp stops producing excess oil and only the amount neccesary and your hair becomes healthier, cleaner and more attractive than ever before.
I’m trying it along with no soap, I’m on my 3rd day.
you can make your own
lemon
tea(chamomile...jasmine etc)
own choice of citrus
witch hazel & tea tree oil (natural antiseptic for dandruff and bacteria found in body oil)
but i do use shampoo once a week..(biolage)
Ok guys it's my fifth day of not using any chemicals on my skin or hair and it's already looking healthier. I don't smell and I'm not greasy or anything.
I've been using just water every morning when I shower, I start off with a hot shower to open my pores and wash away the grease/dirt, I massage my scalp and body with finger tips and then finish off with a cool shower to close the pores.
On friday I think I'll have a soak in a bath of pure hot water and use a loofah to exfoliate myself from head to toe.
No more unnecesary shampoos, shower-gels, soaps, moisturisers etc.
i am doing this now! bump bump! using all natural homemade bar soap with ingredients such has jojoba oil, castor oil, lavender oil and other things. and apple cider vinegar as a conditioner. AMAZING AMAZING. the apple cider vinegar is soo gd. 2 tablespoons or so with one big cup of water. i have naturally curly hair and i need a conditioner every time after i was my hair. i was very hesitant to try apple cider vinegar but when i saw the results, i was blown away.
curly hair is dry usually…how does your hair feel? i would think acv would make it drier and strip it of moisture…my hair can get very dry so i need the conditioner badly.
ACV is making it soft and silky. mix 1 -3 tablespoon of ACV in a cup of water. dip your hair into it and see the results. also read online for more info on ACV. after dipping my hair into the cup, i pour the mixture on my hair and lightly try to untangle my hair using fingers.
replace commercial shampoos with 100 per cent natural bar soap. no chemicals are in these soaps and theyre all made of amazing natural stuff. i use apple cider vinegar mixed with water as a form of conditioner and leave it on my hair for 3-5 min and wash it off. my hair is very curly and it works.
hwoever do research on this method yourself.
google ‘no poo’ methods on facebook and also apple cider vinegar benefits. many ppl use basking soda as a form of shampoo but i prefer natural shampoo soap bars.
