Re: No problem or you are welcome ?
saying "no problem" is like saying dont worry about it.... i dont find that being rude. hmm
however i typically say "you are welcome" ... that is what I was taught growing up.

Re: No problem or you are welcome ?
no worries mate!
It is not used in USA. Sorry to say that it seems rude to me. Let me analyze. When I say you are welcome. I am trying to say. It was a pleasure helping you , you are welcome anytime to come back to me for any help. But mention not would mean. Hey I helped you, now do not create a big fuss and go out there and tell the whole world that I helped you and they will come knocking my door. So in a way you are discouraging the other person from seeking help again.
you are showing your ABCD-pun,
mention not means "it was such a small thing that you shouldn't even think of saying thank you"
it does not mean "don't tell anyone else they will come asking me for favors"
besides....I was being facetious.
I would definitely like to hear "you are welcome"....in fact I mostly say "you are always welcome"
Re: No problem or you are welcome ?
what about the amreekans that say, "Ahaaaan"
Re: No problem or you are welcome ?
I often say “no problem”.. I don’t think its rude
I also say “Your welcome” or simply “Its alright”.. hmmm.

I used to say you are welcomed for a long period of time and nobody corrected me , finally I realized it myself. ![]()
