No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

:naraz: why?

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

I mean what is he doing anyway? Searching for next bride, so what? :hoonh:

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Seriously though, I did not expect this kind of ecstatic response from Pakistanis on the ODI victory.

I was under the impression that most Pakistanis wouldn't care given the situation at home.

But as it turns out, our Pakistani friends are starved for appreciation.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Some1, you will always find people during an IND/PAK in India, talking about Indian crowd and their one-sided support. It is not like Pakistani fans hope for crowd support. Its just that from a Pakistani or an outsider perspective, it looks weird that there is pin drop silence in the crowd when things go against India. Anyhow that duscussion is always for the sake of fun.

As far as Dhoni not appreciating Pakistan, I find that discussion highly idiotic.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Some1, It's not your everyday victory over India by 75 runs. It was with one ball to spare and Pakistan chased down 322 runs. If we were chasing say 275, it would have been achieved with 11 balls to spare and then it would be an ordinary feat.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Now that is a pathetic reply coming from the likes of you Some1. Yes we have crap going on at home, but do we drop everything and sit infront of the TV waiting for the next latest? Do we take it to heart and stop living our lives?

Anyhow, any victory against india is sweet. Just like how you guys won 20/20 WC marginally, which by the way according to you isn't real cricket, the indian media was going beserk and so were the indians. It was sweeter because it was against pakistan.

By the way, many of us could care less about indian appreciation for pak cricket team, and a thread or two doesn't reflect entirely of pak cricket fans.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

There is so much NOISE in that SILENCE...don't you hear.
It is so exhilirating and enlivening....We took a drab slow-moving "gentle-man" game and instilled EMOTION and PASSION into it.

Hayden is quoted as saying that he finds defeating India more satisfying than winning the Ashes...because of this exact fact.....you get the satisfaction of literally SILENCING the opposition.

Do you honestly want Indians to behave like the English or the New Zealand fans who will take the defeat and not even think about it the next day. Where is the fun there.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Sehar jee for President of Pakistan and the PCB!!!

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Some1 is still thinking its yesterday.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

As Sehar said, a few threads doesn't reflect the views of all Pakistani fans. Whenever we bring the Indian crowd issue, most of us do it for the sake of fun. Believe me it is really satisfying to see a one sided crowd stunned into utter silence. And then it's more fun to talk about it with friends or on this forum with fellow guppies.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

In Pakistan - when Afridi gets out - the public , rather than fall silent, start to grab their bags and leave the stadium.

That said, I am bit sick of this topic already and India-Pak cricket discussion in general ....I will try and stay way from here until the next ODI.

Happy Diwali to all Indians and the whole world where Hindu lives*.....tsk...tsk*

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

Only in Peshawar. I am sure you are talking about this game from last year.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

^Yes...possibly...don't remember exactly.

Also, there was a PAK-SA game recently which I was following only on a thread here. Afridi got out and I read a guppie comment that the audience were starting to leave.

Anyways, from what I recall, even ODIs dont ensure a full-house in Pakistan.
And in India - the recent Pak-Delhi side game was played to a full house. Imagine that. Either Indians are insane cricket fanatics or they have too much faaltoo time on their hands. I think it is a bit of both.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

That I have admitted before and will do it again. In terms of crowd turnout, there is no need for even doing a comparison. I once show a clipping on one of the Indian news channel where people gathered to see the match practice of Australia Cricket Team. I guess it was in 2004. I was surprised to see because the crowd was definitely bigger than the average attendance in Pakistan for test matches.

It is a shame that people don't go to see matches in the stadium in Pakistan. I would do anything to see a match live at NSK where I haven't gone in the last 5 years. I am actually trying to plan my next trip to Karachi so that I get to see matches of ICC champions Trophy over there, Inshallah.

Re: No praise of Pakistan cricket from King of Swaziland

^Cricket fanaticism apart, you should not discount India's huge population also as a factor. Too many people with too much time on their hands.

For example :
Population of Calcutta : 33 Million
Population of Karachi : 10 Million

For smaller cities like Guwahati/Kanpur/Chandigarh/etc , the disparity would be similar...I mean vs Multan/Peshawar/Faisalabad/etc
