The answers to all your questions aalready exist in the numerous threads of the Wedding forums. Instead of opening thread after thread, spend some time using the "search" feature using specific key words, and I'm sure you will find alot of useful information. Also, many of the questions you are asking are too broad, and depend on ones' personal choice. There are no hard set rules as to what a bride "has" to do. No one can tell you what kind of embroidery to like, how many dresses to get made or how much makeup to buy. You have to go by your own budget, style and choice.

I don't mean to sound harsh, I just think you are over complicating things for yourself. Relax, and if you truly don't know about shopping, seek the help of a friend or relative who does shop alot and do a survey of the bazaars and markets first, so that you can an idea of what you like, and then go from there. As for how many shoes, clutches, etc it all depends on your social life after marriage...will your inlaws be holding alot of dawats? Are they "expecting" you to bring a huge, fancy wardrobe? Can your parents afford that? These are questions only you can answer yourself my dear, not us!

karachi peeps will help you out well … im from lahore but this is what i gots to say :smiley:

  • visit shaza’s blog, she is from karachi and has blogged about most of your concerns Weddings « Shaza’s Scrapbook

  • types of embroidery really depends on what kind of dresses you like - the most common being dabka, kora, naqshi, stones and sequences - these do not go well on pure chiffon but they do go well on kadarh chiffon and majority of other materials

  • khi is filled with karigars and you can show them pictures and give them material and they can replicate any design within your budget for the dress, if you do not have a big budget then i suggest you do this instead of buying designer clothes but if you can afford designer ones .. those are far better and karigars tend to mess up too… other guppans might help you with where you can find these

  • for bags .. build up on your basic colors which can practically go along with any dress .. then move to matching ones .. like buy black, golden, silver, beige/nude, white then move on to browns, oranges, greens, pinks, etc depends on your budget … clutches than bags come in hand and are less costly - i like someone called ashootabby on facebook .. her costs for bags are reasonable but have never ordered and dont know the experience with her

  • jewelry .. anyy bazaar babes .. loads filled etc … though i like jewelicious on facebook for a lil glamour

  • karachi are all about ready mades .. other khiates guppans will help you out there! i think markets like gulf/teen talwaar/tariq road etc are famous for this

first, you need to categorize your dresses in formals, casuals and party wear.. for formals and party you'll need heavy work but it depends how heavy you can carry.. also short shirts are coming in trends at the end of this year so make short shirts and 2 or 3 long maybe..

where to buy nice clutchs and bags?should i buy matching colours bags or common colours?
matching colors for formals and rest common colors will be fine like black, white and metal colors

from where i can buy nice jewellry for embrdy suits?
im not from khi so cant tell but have heard khi is the best place to get matching jewelry

ah sorry babes cnt help u reagrding shops bcoz m from islamabad i have made 4 dresses of embroidary for my jahaiz and they are fully embroidered,bcoz i dnt wanted to much kaam walay dresses i copies these

love these dresses.. dont like kam walay dresses either.. infact hate them :p
everybody i met these days is saying that.. to be precise sana safinaz are saying k hum ne start kr liye hen short dresses.. per guys the news is 100% accurate 2013 k start men sb short hen.. and i hate them coz all my wedding dresses are long!

yeah they are trying to get the short kamezain back in fashion.i saw one drama on hum tv "kitni girhain baqi hain" where fazila qazi was wearing long kamzeez whereas her niece was wearing short kameez =/

what iv thought is to not go into either ... ill be making my own clothes and will only slightly consider trends ... i dont mind kameezez just above my knee lengths but above that i look fat and why wear something that makes you look fat .. so iv thought to fill my wardrobe up with ego kinda tops and pants lol .. im more comfy with those than the typical lawn cotton three pieces ... you can play around with formals as much as you want so not concerned there.

ugh .. i know the trend is going to get to me someday though :(
