It is funny, sure, but for the average person (American) there is really nothing out there to be worried about and know about. There is too much here to engage an average person to leave any time to worry about the outside world. Clips like these may be funny to outsiders who pay attention to what's going on around them and globally but it is not true in the USA. Most people can't name the capital of their own state. Why would anyone want to know that? Fraudia, it's people like these who do not make it to the polls but on the other hand majority of those who vote don't really follow the debates over time. It's only towards the very end when most of the candidates have been whittled away that the average Joe begins to pay attention.
Ask an American who is the vice president? A large portion can't answer that question.
It is a sad situation, sure. I listen to some talk shows and they run shows where they call in to gas stations or places of work and ask everyday questions... Glen Beck does this. It's hilarious.
