Dushwari, I dont think that there is a huge influx of immigrants coming to Pak...I could be wrong here but I dont think so.If they were to be stricter than they are now, then I think the small influx of immigrants would just stop.
Its a shame how immigrants are being treated in USA. But if you can step outside and look in, you'll see that its a big problem here that has been overlooked for a long time. And now that america has been made a target, now that there is so much violent hatred and wishes for death to americans, there is a much tougher stance on illegal immigrants and just immigrants in general.
Other countries, Islaamic countries, may not give new immigrants such a tough time when they come to live there. Its the people that do it. A gori immigrant to an islaamic land? they can be almost guaranteed to have troubles. As much as I love Pakistan and the way of life over there, I'd not immigrate due to fears of my "gori-ness" and the blue eyes of my sons.
There are many factors that contribute to the mistrust of new immigrants - just take a look at some of the recent posts about 9/11 and how some feel that it was the work of the jews. Look at the posts of those few who talk about America as if all the females are whores and the guys are drunkard rapists and nowhere here does a decent family life exist....
America is taking a protectionist stance and I dont think its entirely uncalled for.
