this is more or less the same scenario at Indian airports and railway stations [not bus terminals for whatever reason]…

…actually, at Aligarh Muslim University, it is a tradition among students to see off friends and classmates at train station. we used to frequent the station for hours every day 3-5 days ahead of the vacations. the charm was the treat we got from the departing students. we used to get a piece of cake and a cup of tea before 9 pm and after 9 pm a boiled egg was added to the menu…wow…at the end of the day, we would have a dozen ‘free’ cuppa teas. we used to return to our residences after the last train of the day left at 1:30 am.

i miss that…

yes, it’s a good move. there is no need for 10 people to come to see one relative/friend off.

at Delhi airport, they have a visitor lounge where relatives and friends of the arriving/departing passengers gather to receive or send them off. there is an entrance fee of Rs. 100 that visitors have to pay.

non passengers are not allowed in the terminal and even passengers can’t enter the terminal before three hours of their departure time.

Yeah, I think they do this at Dhaka Airport and I remember similar when I was leaving Vietnam a few years back as well..

I actually think it’s a good idea.. Used to be a million people milling around inside the terminal and not the safest atmosphere..
