No ARD meeting today: Ahsan Iqbal

ISLAMABAD: Secretary information of Muslim League (N) Ahsan Iqbal said that no meeting of ARD would be held today and a meeting presided by Benazir Bhutto would be a meeting of Peoples Party and its like-minded parties. Talking to Geo News, Ahsan Iqbal said that no meeting would be possible without ARD President Javed Hashmi and General Secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra. He said that the member parties would not be united at ARD platform unless Benazir Bhutto abandon her policy of reconciliation with Musharraf.

Maybe she wants learn trick or two from good maulana on how to be in 2 boats at the same time. BTW, if I was NS I wouldn't meet her either. Her credibility is dented and she is in catch 22 situation. If she calls for protests she will go to jail possibly for long time, and if she continues to dance with a dictator thats going to hurt her politically. Its no win for her.

Yep, but in the end Shamraz we all know she came back to Pakistan after an American-negotiated agreement. Plus she has making statements to please that only US politcians have been making i.e. allowing yanks to bomb Pakistan, handing over AQ Khan. Such statements show how beholden she is to the American agenda which compels her to make an agreement to strengthen Musharraf, come what may. Plus sawai Fazlur Rehman she has become a pariah for other opposition parties who want little to do with her.

PPP contacts Fazlur Rehman

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has made contact with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and a two-member PPP delegation reached his residence to meet him. According to sources, the PPP delegation consisted of senator Raza Rabbani and MNA Khurshid Shah. Talking with Geo News in this context, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that all political parties should foster their mutual contacts while Raza Rabbani said that all political parties should adopt a common strategy. In reply to a question, Raza Rabbani said that he had old contacts with Maulana Fazlur Rehman and this meeting too is a continuation of these relations.
