So what’re your tricks to achieving the no makeup makeup look? If possible try to be specific with which products work best for you for this. I’m specifically looking for great eye shadows.
There isn’t a single color in the Naked2 palette which gives me the light matte-ish finish on the eyes. So I’m thinking of getting Smashbox Shades of Fame because of the honey, nude, and sandstone colors (plus, I’m in love with sherbert and pacific). I think they’ll work well with my skin tone. But not sure if its worth it.
I use a MAC's Malt, Bisque and sometimes if I just want a sliiiiiiiiight hint of satin I will use All That Glitters.
The neutral matte goes all over the eye and then I will use a touch of color like MAC's Brown Down or Cork or Soft Brown at the highest point of the crease and blend really well. Slight dimension.
No makeup makeup for me consists of very light brown smoked out eyeliner with mascara. If I want it to look like no makeup, I don't even bother with eyeshadow. The most i'll do is run a little bit of my bronzer or my contouring powder in my crease to give it a little definition but usually not even that.
For a "no make-up" eye look.....I usually do a brown eyeliner with natural looking mascara (Maybelliene Full & Soft is a great one for this!). If my allergies aren't acting up....I'll apply the brown liner on the waterline instead of above the lashline. Then I take a flat brush and use it to make the upper waterline pop a little more by putting MAC Embark on top of the eyeliner. At times I don't even bother with eyeshadow....I'll just apply concealor or MAC Painterly Paint pot all over the lid.
But if I do apply a neutral shadow, here are some of my favorites: (All MAC)
For the lid: Patina, All that Glitters, Texture, Neutral Pink
For the crease: Brown Script, Satin Taupe, Folie (I apply very little on the outer V and blend like hell just to give it some definition)
If this look is during the evening/nighttime.....depending on the outfit I'll add a touch of shadows like Woodwinked or Amber Lights near the crease color.
^ Yep, I have 70ish colors and all are either shadows or pigments from MAC. BTW, they sell in pots and "pro pans". If you like to keep your shadows organized in palettes....you should buy the pro pans, and buy the 4 OR 15 pan palette to put them in.
Can anyone please explain the whole crease thing to me? I understand applying a base color all over your lid, and then a darker color on the outer corner of your eye, and then blending those two..but what do you put on the crease?
For the no makeup look, I put my MAC studio fix all over my face with a kabuki brush..just a quick brush up, nothing too much or too heavy, brown eyelinver on the top, mascara on the top lashes and some lipgloss. I guess you could a add a hint of blush to give you a rosy look too.

LOL....except for liner on the bottom instead of the top and no blush, you've just described my full make-up routine for everyday........how is this the 'no make-up look'?
To be honest that is my everyday look too..I don't do heavy foundation or anything. And if I'm going to a daavat, I add liner on the bottm, blush, colored lipgloss instead of clear, mascara top and bottom and eyeshadow. But I guess thats as close to getting a no makeup look with makeup :S
Actually, by no makeup, makeup I meant something like this.
This is something I would wear to a function or Eid party. So I’m going for more of the natural version of myself, but enhanced? Though I’d skip the fake eyelashes.
And like someone said my true no makeup makeup is just eyeliner and vaseline.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I like all my eye shadows in palettes.
I personally just use concealer for my under eyes and lids, set the concealer with MAC's MSFN and then apply mascara to my lashes....that's my everyday "eye makeup". I don't use eyeshadow for my daily looks, but I think MAC's "Arena", "Brule" and "Bisque" are all good choices for a natural all over lid colour.
Jessica Harlow looks like a pale version of Cara Kilbey from TOWIE..
A 'no makeup' look on me would be MAC compact foundation, Maybelline mascara and lips filled in with Revlon pencil (they get all dry and manky if left totally bare :()..
