No iPhone for Gates' Family

Do you allow your family to purchase competition product? Be it food items, or gadgets? I have a friend whose father works for an Office Products company, and he frowns upon any of the family members buying the competition’s products.

:D

Being a business man is tough and the toughest thing is to stick with your own product, but that is the discipline that differs Gates from an average American by about 40 billion dollars. I am sure Melinda would rather have a private island and a private jet than an iphone in her handbag

Re: No iPhone for Gates' Family

Would you travel the Airbus? :p

I feel the Gates way about Boeing. "If it ain't boeing, i ain't going"

That aside, i think Steve Jobs has a lot to be proud of. Apple has totally transformed itself from being the "boring OS" that looked too serious into something that attracts people. iPhone is just one gem, notebook PCs is another.

Windows has yet to build a full package, system and OS included. But it has its own share in the gaming industry with Xbox and other multimedia players.

What's next for Windows? Competition is a relative term in technology industry i suppose...

Re: No iPhone for Gates' Family

I do not own Boeing :D .... if I did or had a choice .. yes maybe ..

When I was in GM, I bought a GM car .. but when I rented and had no choice, I drove ford, chrysler , whatever came my way ...

Re: No iPhone for Gates' Family

^^

It is one thing to work in GM than owning GM. In my hometown an employee of Ford had a Maruti(Indian Brand) car. When I went to buy a Ford car and noticed this I asked him for the reason. He candidly admitted that it made more economical sense to own a Maruti car.
